Bivol is the hardest style match up for David , it would be similar to the Plant fight. David would need to break him down to the body, slow him down and them do his thing, which I think he can do. Nobody generally attacks Bivols open body, which David would do. Once the legs slow its game over.

 

First of all, since when does Bivol leave his body open? I think you've invented a weakness that doesn't exist.

Secondly, Beterbiev spent 24 rounds with this dude and couldn't drop him or significantly hurt him. Artur threw over 1,000 punches in their first fight and Bivol's legs held up just fine. But a plodding volume puncher who can't even cut off a ring is gonna break him down?

 

Zurdo was famed for his durability yet his face fell apart after 6 rounds. That's what happens when you land 150 punches at 46% in 6 rounds, and he would land even more vs someone like Glanton. That obviously does not mean he beats Jai because of it, but when your talking about who was more impressive, it was David.

 

Go watch tape of how Bivol stands with his high guard mid range with his body open. Lyndon arthur hurt Bivol to the body and had him reeling for a moment. David is faster than Beterbeiv, longer, and has way more creative offense. They are both pressure fighters but quite different in detail.

 

Had to rewatch Benavidez’s dominating performance against Zurdo. That was a huge statement that he put on by stopping a big tough fighter in Zurdo. Incredible engine, strength, aggression, and hand speed. His combinations looked like shoeshines but were actually hurtful. He continues to keep improving his game and showing desires to fight the best fighters put in front of him. Such such an entertaining fighter to watch. He’s definitely a handful for anyone at this stage, including Bivol, Beterbiev and Opetaia.

Are you stupid mate? Opetaia hasn’t cleared the division because he’s literally the most ducked guy in boxing. Zurdo has been running for years. CBS too. Even Benavidez decided to take on Zurdo for his titles (before Opetaia was shamelessly stripped by the IBF mind you) instead of Opetaia.

Opetaia is the best CW in the world by that far it’s a joke. And now we have tough guy Benavidez calling out Canelo. Really? How truly pathetic. He’d smack Canelo senseless, he’s too big for him, even if he has to cut weight.

But Opetaia also beats Zurdo like a red-headed stepchild. Zurdo is a bum and DB did what he was expected to. But that win has clearly given the casuals a false sense of what’s reality.

Great event, very entertaining fights. Chavez-Sanchez had a thrilling finish, Lucero has great solidity and courage, but he blocks shots with his face and I don't think he'll have a long career. Good fight between Duarte and Fierro. Great performance by Benavidez, honestly, I thought Zurdo might be a tougher opponent, but that wasn't the case, congrats to David. Now I'm curious to see who will be there for him: Bivol at 175 pounds or Opetaia in the cruiserweight division?
Lots of stars at the event, Fernando Vargas's speech is getting worse and worse, I'm sorry about that, El Feroz isn't even 50 yet.

 

If other champions don’t want to fight him, why hasn’t he fought other highly ranked contenders across the different sanctioning bodies? And don’t reply with “everyone is scared to fight him.” Champions might be too comfortable with their belts, sure; but most contenders would jump at the chance to fight for a title. You’re telling me the ATG Claudio Squeo is the only cruiserweight willing to face Jai Opetaia? Give me a break. If Zurdo Ramirez is a “bum,” then what does that make Opetaia’s opponents?

A lot of this “ducking” talk is hearsay. Opetaia isn’t a neutral party; he benefits from that narrative. He did a full media run saying CBS was avoiding him, and now CBS is signed with Zuffa just to make that fight happen. Also, if Opetaia is so avoided, why not move up to heavyweight, take some big fights, and build his name? Saying “he’s a cruiserweight” doesn’t mean anything. Compare a real cruiserweight like David Haye to Opetaia; 200 pounds is historically heavyweight. Roy Jones Jr, a light-heavy fighter, fought John Ruiz at 193.

The sanctioning side matters. The IBF has its own rules, and Zuffa is trying to build its own system without belts. Why would the IBF sanction any Zuffa fight? Benavidez wants Canelo for personal reasons, but that fight isn’t possible; let him fight at 175 without crying. And you still haven’t explained why Opetaia is supposedly better than Bivol. Do wins over Thompson, Zorro, and Squeo secure him as an ATG p4p top 10 fighter?

 

I mean he kinda gave them an excuse by signing with Zuffa, that was a monumentally stupid decision you have to admit
