After the 1st Joshua fight?

He has a rematch clause that he was paid more to sign

After the second fight he took care of the WBA mandatory then went in to the Fury fight again clearly as a B side with nowhere near the bargaining power of Fury
If he wanted to win all the belts, he had to sign the contract which included the rematch

Not sure where you think he would have been able to fit anything else in between that

And commercially he was not considered "the man " and never has been

 

Foreman I agree. Holyfield definitely isn't 100%. He's perhaps not on the level of Bowe or Toney, but he's not great. There's been multiple videos of him slurring his speech. I remember watching a video a few years back, of this ex-boxer, I can't remember his name but he was a British guy, talking about how he met up with Holyfield, and they did some training/shadow-boxing together and he even lived with Holyfield and his family for a few weeks, or something like that. Can't remember the exact details. Anyway, after he left, he bumped into Holyfield again a few months later and Holyfield apparently had no idea who he was. The British guy said it was pretty scary.

 

Holy got better and I think someone mentioned he had therapy. He sounded awful at one point.

 

News today is that Turkyi wants the Kabayel fight, and is sitting down with Usyk soon to make the pitch.

In my mind, if Turkyi is putting up the money it's as good as done.

 

Whilst Turki has his cheque book out hopefully he also puts the money up for Benavidez v Bivol

He's already said he won't fight "Greedy Belly" again. No one wants the DuBois trilogy. And he is helping coach AJ.

 

I guess you didn't see so I will let you in on the good news: Turkyi wants Kabayel and is going to sit down and make the pitch. I think with Turkyi willing to take a loss to get it made, the fight is as good as done.

 

Usyk is a nice guy. Not a good dancer. Bit a nice guy.

I think he will retire undefeated. There are only 4 or 5 real fights out there for him:

Rico
Kabayel
Wardley (Obviously depends on his fight with DuBois)
Itauma

I'm not saying Benavidez would be an easy fight, but it wouldn't be as hard as the other 3 rated HWs he may fight.

 

You are not wrong but it is more important to us than it is to him. He has talked about losing, and said that he considers winning and losing two sides of the same coin. He just doesn't fear it.

I want to see him retire undefeated, but hey, say he loses one...what then prevents him from sticking around until he is 45 adding more names to the resume?

He's going to do what he's going to do, so we shall see.

Best case scenario for me...he takes on Kabayel next, has enough left for that....Dubois beats Wardely, thus sealing that off because no one has any taste for a third fight...Fury fights Dubois cutting that off...and Usyk sticks around fighting more largely performative matches like Wilder, Ruiz and Benevidez.
