I’m not interested in seeing Usyk vs. Benavidez. I want to see him against Bivol, Beterbiev, or even Opetaia. I think making this kind of circus fight is terrible. I want to watch real, competitive boxing. I’m not looking for risky fights just out of morbid curiosity.

A lazy fighter can’t become a three-division champion and be one of the top-ranked fighters at 175. You’re not being objective.

Kabayel has already done the hard work to get his status, that’s why the WBC have ordered Usyk to fight Kabayel next or he is stripped of the belt, hopefully the fight does go ahead and Usyk does not drop another belt .

I remember when 50 cent thought Gamboa would beat Floyd at 147

Turki is like this but happy to spend silly money on these non fights

I hope that's enough, but I doubt it. And the more time that goes by the less convincing "I should get a shot because I beat a good fighter at the beginning of 2025" will sound.

Doesn't seem like it so far. Usyk doesn't seem to care much about that anymore, but I hope I'm wrong,

I cant wait until Turki watches one of the Rocky movies and offers 300 million dollars to stage Sylvester Stallone vs Usyk for all of his belts in the North Pole in 2027.

Then I can watch Kellerman and company shill that fight as legitimate

Benavidez is certainly not a bum! :D

But I do agree him going to HW is silly.

Ya know, this is why boxing never changes. For the 30+ years I've been watching boxing, one of the biggest complaints has always been the best won't fight the best, they just cherry pick fights! But ya know why guys do that? Because people let them get away with it. They see a guy smash a middling dude in an exciting fight and then they start proclaiming him the #1 P4P and suggesting he'd take out anyone anywhere at anytime. Mid tier fighters get elevated to something they're not so when the hero beats them it only increases his mythical stature even more.

Zurdo is a mid-level fighter. He got over at 168 because he's huge for that division and it's full of nobodies. There's not a single recognizable name on his CV until he loses, badly, to Bivol at 175. He knows he's never winning a thing at LHW so he jumps to cruiser to beat an even worse fighter in CBS. A dude who squeaked past Okolie to win his title. And Zurdo also happens to be the perfect match for Benevidez. A guy Benevidez has spent 200 hours sparring supposedly, who doesn't move, who doesn't move his head, and who is noticeably slower. That's a better match up for Benevidez than Chisora was for Fury. Just absolute food for this guy.

People just love chasing that dragon, though. They see an exciting fight where one guy shines bright and they lose whatever few critical thinking skills they had. They're jonesing for that next hit. Benevidez beat a fat, middling champ in the weakest division in boxing that he knew inside and out; now we've all gotta act like he's the best fighter since Floyd, the most exciting fighter since Pacman or De La Hoya, and let's not waste any time put him in there with Usyk because it's clear he'd wipe the floor with that Ukrainian!

If I wasn't so lazy I'd go find the Professor Farnsworth "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" meme and stick it here.

I'm not attracted to Usyk-Benavidez, they're different sizes, David made his cruiserweight debut on Saturday. But if they ever do it (nothing surprises me anymore), I hope the world titles aren't on the line, otherwise we can just abolish rankings, if they don't mean anything anyway.

Hi your Turkiness. I've got a radical suggestion. Why not make a fight between Usyk and a seasoned experienced high performing HW like Kabayel.

    Zany idea I know.
