Which Monster performance was more impressive: Inoue UD12 Nakatani or Benavidez TKO6 Zurdo

On paper Inoue's performance was better because Nakatani Is a considerably better fighter and was a top 10 P4P fighter.

But Benavidez's performance was alot more exciting IMO.

 

Inoue by far, but Benavidez was pure entertainment. A fight you show your casual boxing fan friend to hook him in. Handspeed, flurries, high activity and Mexican clashing inside is never boring.

Zurdo, as much as I like him, scored his last knockout in 2022, at light-heavyweight, and is far closer to a CBS level champion, who is two leagues below the likes of Opetaia. That being said, Benavidez moved into the weight very well, and would arguably replicated Zurdo's run of Smith, Goulamirian, Billiam-Smith, and Dorticos more convincingly.

 

benavidez beat a unified champion in 6 rds by competely dominating him, busting him up and making him quit, in his very first fight in his 3rd division. inoue beat a guy with no belts who moved up to fight in inoues division just 1 fight prior, and he went to a decision where some rds were competitive. that doesnt tell the whole story, but it isnt something you just ignore either.
i pretty much expected what we saw in the inoue fight, but did not expect anything close to what i saw in the benavidez fight. so for me, benavidez was more impressive. and to be clear, what i say after fights lines up with what i say before fights, i dont rewrite my history.

It isn't even close. If Benavidez did that to Opetaia, then we can consider, but against Zurdo "im scared of Jai" Ramirez, the performance is fundamentally cherrypickijg for casuals.

 

I was much more impressed by Benavidez's performance. Suffice it to say that David won by knockout against a two weight class world champion, a solid fighter who had never lost by stoppage. Let's add that the American was making his cruiserweight debut and showed volume puncher, quick two-handed series, good timing, good ability to absorb his opponent's shots and intelligent pressure. At the end of the day Benavidez's performance was great (acknowledged by many insiders).

Obviously Inoue's performance against an great Nakatani was very good, and his is a important victory that further solidifies his legacy, that's fair to say.

 

Both Inoue and Benavidez had good wins and tbh I thought both would more than likely win on points,however Benavidez putting in a performance like that,I have to give him the edge this time over Inoue .

I think we got to give a credit to the dude, who beat the guy who we favored and in such spectacular fashion.
