Will Daniel Dubois quit after Fabio Wardley lands a few hard punches?

I don’t think so. I think Daniel has a good chin generally, and there’s nothing wrong with his will to keep fighting when he’s having his own success.

The Usyk fights were success-free for Daniel in their entirety hence why he quit both times. But in the Hrgovic, Lereana and Miller fights, Daniel was content to bite down and push through adversity, even in the AJ fight where he got buzzed immediately prior to the knockdown, purely because he was landing his own shots, or at least not being exhausted mentally.

 

Wardley isn't Usyk, he's there to be hit. I think Dubois wins Saturday.

 

I think Dubois will start at a high pace in this one and possibly stops wardley in the 1st half of the fight when he realises how easily he can land on him.

 

If this goes beyond 6 rounds and I think it will then Wardley eventually gets to him and stops him. Dubois tried to quit against Kevin Lerena and managed to quit against Usyk and Joyce.

Dubois best chance in this fight is to catch Wardley cold early doors.

 

I have a feeling that Dubois will just walk through Wardley. Dubois crumbles mentally when he can't land. Wardley is easy to land on.. as soon as Dubois lands something big early his confidence will be through the roof.

 

Hard to pick fight.

I had Dubois favourite initially but I'm having doubts the closer we get. Wardley may well chin him.

With all the criticizm dubois faces, in every case I would have done the same.

1 if you fight on with a broken orbital bone, sinking in your skull, you are beyond stupid. What are you earning from it? What does boxing earn but bad press and a push to prohibit it? And if you want to see that fight continue I have nothing to say to you.

2 In the first usyk fight he could have endured the last 3-4 rounds, too, but at that point there was no winning that fight anymore. He was drowning at that point. Usyk was in complete control. Had he carried on, he would have been knocked out a little later from exhaustion or taken looots of punishment while looking bad all the time. Granted, we're used to warriors enduring that and going till they are ko'ed, but in that fight I see it as a sign of intelligence that he quit and I would have done the same.

3 In the second Usyk fight, he did what everyone said you have to do against usyk. He actually tried to go at a murderous pace for the first few rounds and actually pushed usyk, hitting him more frequently than I have seen anyone hit him in recent times. At the point of the knockdown he was breathing like a madman. Everyone that has exhausted himself to that point and gotten hit hard should be able to know what situation dubois found himself in there. Yes he could have gotten up and carried on, but again to what end? After exhausting himself and even being put down he would not have been able to do anything anymore. He would have been a sitting duck like joshua was to klitschko. Only that he didn't have old klitschko in front of him but usyk who was getting stronger by the second compared to him and who would have just piled on the damage till the certain end a few rounds later. Dubois gave his all in the first part of the fight.
So that was the best point to exit the fight.

I am no die-hard dubois fan, but he is one of the best heavyweights right now, I think better than wardley and thus right behind usyk and kabayel. And these quits preserved him for our heavyweight landscape and I am totally fine with it

 

Wardley bringing the fight will suit Dan just fine. Daniel thrives in these fights. Neither man will run or hide, only intangible for me is Wardley's chin with this level of puncher. I think Daniel might simply beat him up. But Wardley has made me look foolish last three fights when I picked against him.

 

What advantages does Wardley have over Dubois?

Dubois has a solid amateur career, he’s literally a hardened world class professional and an ex world champion, he walked AJ down and dropped Usyk with a body shot.

It’ll be extremely impressive if Wardley sees the final bell of the bout conscious.

 

Hes not going to have a chance to quit because Wardley is going to shatter his glass jaw early, leaving him out cold on the canvas

 

Without a hail Mary punch of the century from Wardley, Wardley will cop a beating and then get stopped.

As for your question, I would say no; Dubois is a bit of a strange one in that it is not eating hard shots that seems to break his heart, rather when he is outboxed and cannot conceive a way back into the fight he seems to be prone to quit. Against Wardley I'm sure he will absorb some power shots, but he will also land at a fair clip too and he won't, at any point, be out of the fight. I would be surprised if he quits against Wardley, but then again who knows?
