Which punches by certain fighters get underrated?

Holyfield’s left hook gets quite underrated IMO. He knocked down Bowe and Mercer with it and staggered Lewis with it.

Floyd Mayweather had a very good left hook too- both as a check hook and especially vs southpaws. Rarely mentioned in this regard.

    Who else?

Jack Johnson had the gazelle punch or leaping left hook and right uppercut. Joe Louis's right crosses and left hooks. Muhammad Ali had a good straight left jab to the body in his earlier career and included hooks and uppercuts in his repertoire. Larry Holmes had a decent left hook although hardly ever used it. Evander Holyfield had a great counter right cross. Lennox Lewis had a sharp left hook and left uppercut.

Canelo would throw these lopping roundhouse punches from distance with his right hand right into his opponent's side. I remember Caleb Plant would crouch down low to avoid taking any head shots when he needed a breather and wanted to slow down the pace of Canelo's pressure. So Canelo just started hammering Plant to the body with those rights, punishing him every time he did it. Before that point, Caleb was somewhat holding his own in there. Even won some rounds. But those body shots really changed the whole complexion of the fight and really spelled the beginning of the end for Plant. He also landed really effective shots against Saunders with that same punch, too. At least, that's how I remember it.

Frazier's right hand. Extremely accurate punch and about all he did was throw it to the body and mix in an uppercut when on the inside.

As for the most industry wide overlooked effective shot, I'd go with the right hook by a southpaw as a seldom mentioned punch.

    Hi Guys.
I rather think Saads uppercut was a hard and brutal punch, he knocked Mwale cold with a variation of the punch, Pops was on the receiving end of it multiple times.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.

Ken Norton's overhand right was lethal. Nearly took Duane Bobick's head off and was so effective in his 3rd bout with Ali and the Holmes fight. He put so much into it one could see that as he got older he just couldn't wing it as often during a fight. But again, a lethal punch.

Dave 'Boy' Green's overhand right was also a killer punch. Became known as his 'muckspreader' when his manager/trainer told him he threw it in the same way a farmer would sling a pike of hay.

Hearns's left hook to the body obviously he's noted for his right hand but his body punches were sickening.

The ones he landed on Shuler and Barkley before he got stopped I was wincing just looking at them.

    Hi Scart.
Loath as I am to correct a seasoned and well liked poster, ( and I am ) the muck spreader was actually a vehicle that was towed behind a tractor that as the title says " spread " muck across the field, the thinking behind Andy Smith was that the punch was far reaching, much like the machine would do, so a lot of his opponents thought they were out of range, only to be hit by said punch, he brushed past me at wembley for the Stracey fight, he looked mean and focused, I had already tipped him to win amongst my group of friends, they were not buying it, they learned.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.

Tony Zales straight right hand to the solar plexus and Jack Dempsey's right hand below the heart. Fitzsimmons used it as well. Two extinct punches now

Tyson's jab. It wasn't for show but it did the work when it came to him getting inside.

Joe Frazier's right hand to the body looked like it didn't feel too good to be on the receiving end.

Cotto’s Puerto Rican uppercut. As shown in my avatar, it was very effective in discombobulating Judah. Trinidad had a good one too.

People seem to forget how ferocious a punch Golovkin's left to the liver was. He regularly dropped guys with it and often used it to initiate a finishing combination.
