Moses Itauma vs Daniel Dubois is the fight to make before the end of the year

The heavyweight fight to make for the whole year is definitely the young lion, southpaw knockout artist and matrix Moses Itauma, and the dark horse Daniel Dubois, the new WBO heavyweight champion. Moses is the WBO's #1 contender, and has knocked out former top 5 heavyweights Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin Jr. And opposite him would be the only man to have stopped fellow Moses' stablemate with Ben Davison Fabio Wardley, an anomaly as he's the fighter to take a knee to knock a man in three, the roughhouse Dynamite Daniel Dubois.

 

Itauma tears him to shreds in 3 rounds. Dubios isn't going to be able to cope with the speed and shot variation.

 

Itauma has clear speed advantage in this fight, but his win isn't given. Dubois has counterpunching skills, and Itauma was never properly hit in the pro ring. Itauma may catch Dubois early, but if he doesn't his chin will be checked. And I highly doubt it's on par with Wardley's chin

 

I think Itauma wins but if Dubois can somehow stay in there past the first few rounds, it will be interesting.

I agree, this fight needs to be made.

 

Itauma isn't ready for the title shot. Needs more fights.

 

I think its too soon for Itauma to fight Dubois.

Even with that been said - I'm not confident Dubois's chin will survive Itauma's early onslaught and I think this one would end in an Itauma KO. However, if Dubois does survive the first few rounds, he wins this - in the long run Itauma just hasn't proved anything.

 

I think atleast a "final eliminator" bout should be set between him and some opponent like Hrgovic or AJ who are highly rated by WBO then that fight against Dubois can be made

 

Agree with the above posts. Itauma shouldn't jump straight from Franklin to Dubois, too big a leap. Needs a fight to bridge the gap.

Funnily enough Frank did this with Dubois when he put him in with Joyce and look what happened there.

 

I see Itauma being a stylistic nightmare for Dubois. Twitchy, quick feet, unreal shot selection and blistering hand speed compared to Wardley. Also, he’s a southpaw.

He’ll give him too much to think about, and he has more firepower than Usyk, so I think he does him in less time than Usyk did the second time.

But, Daniel’s quick in and out movement tonight was something I wasn’t expecting, so perhaps he might be able to last a few rounds and start chipping away at Moses thereafter, to try and drag him deep and out-experience him. I wouldn’t bet on it though.

 

Or if Dubois chooses to duck Itauma, he can fight Fury and the winner gets a trilogy with the aging Usyk

 

I'd like to see it! Can Moses block/avoid that ramrod jab? How does his chin hold up? How does his stamina hold up if DDD manages to make it to the mid-rounds and beyond?

 

Itauma shouldn't fight for a title before 2028. He has time, why rush it?

 

If Dubois survives the early rounds, Itauma could be in for a rough night.

Itauma hasn’t gone rounds against quality opposition, and Dubois is great down the stretch.

 

If it's to soon for Itauma then when? He isn't learning a thing with the guys they have lined up for him to plow through. Not excited to see those 5 rnds or less blitz. If that is what we will get for the next year or so, F it and put him in.

 

I reckon it will be Gassiev vs Itauma next for the regular belt
