Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois & Jack Rafferty vs. Ekow Essuman + David Morrell vs. Zak Chelli RBR.

I don't think Huni's worsened by that much - anyone takes a forward momentum shot like that from Wardley is in trouble, and it was literally the ONLY mistake Huni made in the whole fight. Wardley catches anyone they are in trouble

 

I honestly thought Wardley would get completely found out and Dubois would go through him like a hot knife through butter but Wardley is made of different stuff!

 

I don't know mate but I can't think of a more gutty fighter. Gatti?

What a card tonight mind,that was one of the best cards for a long long time

 

Huni just has a **** team, should have just played it safe for the last few rounds

 

One thing to think about. This fight was, as predicted, about levels. Wardley has a chin like the Old Man of Hoy and a heart the size of a Cadillac, but other than the knockdowns he was well beaten in an always competitive one sided fight. Yes, such things exist. He was always in the fight because of his attributes and it made for compelling viewing but lets not overlook the one thing not many are talking about. Dubois boxed his ears off. For a big man, Dubois footwork is very good. He is light on his feet and moves in and out of range brilliantly, closing range to give his own heavy punches extra heft. This is why his thudding jab is a life changer. Its not just thrown with bad intentions, its thrown from a perfect range either offensively or defensively. The kid can box. Yes, he can fight, he proved that, but he can 'tuck up' and box. He took Fabio's game away from him by going back to his fundamentals and working him over. This was a brutal fight, mesmerising, compelling, but that was because of the power both men possess. Dubois, however, used his boxing to mitigate Fabio's get out of jail free card and systematically dismantled him. I'd expect him to do the same against any heavyweight not called Usyk right now. Frank won't let Moses near him right now and why would he? Moses is a baby. Well matched with the best of the rest, I genuinely believe Dubois and Moses can go undefeated for the next few years and then meet for an all British clash for all the marbles, a passing of the torch fight because by then, if Moses proves to be the real deal, he will be THE real deal....

Great fight, credit to both men, I suspect Dubois has won a few fans tonight...

Yeah, he isn't a heavyweight but being bigger usually means that you can take the punishment better so it balances out somewhat. He's gone up against some huge punchers in his division like Donaire, Riku Masuda, Daigo Higa, and Kazuki Nakajima (as well as other very sharp boxers who landed plenty on him), but he soaks it up and keeps going.

 

In regards to Heavyweights probably Holyfield.

 

Fabio Wardley’s chin and heart cannot be overstated. The guy is a limited fighter but he’s also a real blood guts tough SOB with no quit in him. He reminds me of guys like Ray Mercer and Lamon Brewster. I hope this fight and his previous wars have not permanently damaged him. He needs time to recover and think about his future options.

Huge props to Dubois for gutting it out and coming back from the knockdowns to come out victorious. Big respect to both guys for their efforts. What a fight.
