Dubois defeats Wardley, and the winner is...USYK!

Briedis may not make it due to the bias against cruiser but Usyk may well come to have 6 wins in 6 fights against HOF heavyweights if he retired after his next fight, and all of them champions, future champions, or one fight removed from being champions. And that was six fights back to back to back, which would be virtually unprecedented in boxing history if not totally.

 

Does it really count when he drops the belts to begin with though?

Hard to give him credit for rematching Dubios the second time, and we may be in for a third, especially as he avoided two mandatories to fight a kickboxer instead.

 

The only fighter I wanted him to fight was Kabayel this fight doesn't change that IMO.

My issue with Usyk is he's only averaging 1 fight per year and he's still holding onto the belts whilst wasting time fighting a kickboxer.

Yes Dubois's stock has gone up and it makes Usyk wins over him look better.

But that still doesn't alter the fact people aren't happy with the inactivity, and fighting a kickboxer whilst still holding onto the belts that's a different matter all together.

I'd have no issues with Usyk retiring if that's what he wants to do he's had a great career and he's earned it.

But if he continues to fight no more side show fights and be more active.

 

Usyk is king and he still beats them all. My only issue with Usyk right now is, just vacate the belts, let the division move on and you just take whatever fights interest you.

Vacant belts could force some brilliant match ups right now with where some people are positioned, i feel some people are still avoiding each other on the hope they get a Usyk fight.

 

5 opponents at heavyweight. Only 5.

Now don't get me wrong, I think he beats everyone in the division atm, but lets not pretend he has cleared out the division when he's off fighting once a year and about to face a kickboxer for a title defense.

 

His "5 opponents" at HW also constitute 6 wins against likely future HOF fighters, all champions, back to back to back. Has anyone in boxing history done that?

 

Watching the Kabayel-Knyba fight right now. Kabayel is too slow for Usyk. His best chance is literally to wait that fight out.

 

Fury and AJ I'd count as very solid wins, but Dubios to me is not the best man following them imo. Too flawed.

 

It's an absurd argument. It would be like saying four wins over Ali and Lewis without a loss or draw are just "two opponents beaten".
