Moses Itauma vs Daniel Dubois is the fight to make before the end of the year

Anthony Yarde said in an interview that he has seen Itauma take huge shots in sparring, and has no concerns about Itauma's chin at the highest level. Granted, it's different under the bright lights and with someone like Dubois, who is a tank. But I just don't think Dubois is the one who is going to test Moses. Technically, though, Itauma is the closest thing to Usyk at HW. Southpaw, 40 feints a round, blistering speed, footwork. I can see DDD having Usyk flashbacks early on.

Moses is not as good as Usyk, but Dubois was so out of his depth against Usyk in both fights that I think an Itauma fight plays out in a similar fashion. He bamboozles him for a few rounds and puts him down, and Dubois just thinks to himself, "I'm not going to figure this kid out" - good win for Dubois tonight, but let's put it in a broader context. Wardley was completely schooled by Huni for 9 rounds. It's a good win for Daniel, but Wardley has so many elements of his game that aren't elite. Itauma is on another planet to him in terms of ability.

 

Itauma destroys dubois before the 6th round. He is awesome and the next HW Champ and anyone who thinks otherwise is a ******

 

The thing I can't get off my mind is how much of a vulnerability Dubois keeps showing to cuffing right hand over the top of his head, and the very mean right hook over the top of the side of Franklin's ear, that Itauma landed in his second knockdown. He has no trouble throwing them out of peripheral view as well, and Dubois wouldn't have time to take a knee.

 

Itauma might be apprehensive due to Dubois' power and jab. Itauma has already said Dubois was his hardest spar.

 

I saw that interview as well, it was a weird lowkey interview.

Itauma also pointed out that Dubois was stylistically very tough as well. I think its just a bit too soon for Itauma.

 

If you noticed during the Itauma interview tonight when they asked him about fighting Dubois he didn't answer it himself - he let the interviewer say it. He's not taking the Dubois fight any time soon.

 

Uncle Frank should milk them both. I think between them they beat everyone else not called Usyk over the next 24 months then its a massive all British fight for all the marbles assuming Usyk has his slippers and pipe by then...

 

I presumed that he was being rhetorical and saying, "What do you think?" as in it was an obvious yes. I suppose it was a cryptic response, but I've got no doubt Itauma beats Dubois. I think, style-wise, it is a complete nightmare for him.

 

If they both go on a good run in the next year or two and stay unbeaten in that time, it would be a huge huge fight.

 

That's reading a bit too much into it. Fighting Dubios for a title would be a gift for Itauma compared to having to face Usyk.

 

moses beats the crap out of him. even with such little experience. you dont need anything extra against dubois when you have the speed and power moses has. there aint much to figure out.
