Is Fabio Wardley world class?

No.

 

Overrated like most boxers.

 

Contender at best, idk what the trainers are doin with him, but what he showed last night was straight up embarassing, feel bad for him, cause he does have heart and a chin, even deontay wilder looked better in the ring.

 

Fabio doesn't have works class talent however he can fight at world class level due to other factors

 

Yes, he can mix it at world level for sure

Are his boxing skills world class? Not as such but he’s got heart determination and power-there’s world level operators that have skills in abundance but lack the heart

Skillwise obviously not, but HW boxing isn't always about skill.
He has a world class punch, a world class chin, world class heart and very good height and reach, which on every given night can overcome other actually skilled world class heavyweights.

I expect his career to be be short and brutal if he keeps fighting this way and he might end up with less active braincells as Dubois when all things are said and done, but I expect he will win a couple of big fights in the future and always be a threat.

I very slightly favored Dubois for this fight and clearly favor Dubois for a possible rematch with the blueprint now in place, but that one obviously isn't a given either.

 

Very basic fighter. If Justin Huni had any power then he’d have stopped Fabio as well. The guy has a chin and punch (plus decent hand speed as well) but he has zero head movement (which is bad news when you hold your hands low), stands straight up, neglects the jab, doesn’t attack the body and doesn’t set up shots or punch in combination. Basically Boxing 101 that he simply doesn't do.

I admire him for his warrior spirit and courage but these qualities can’t compensate for his skill deficiencies long term. Boxing is too cruel for that. We’ve seen it countless times most recently with Big Joe Joyce.

 

Yes, he beat Parker. The thing is, Dubois is also world class, it doesn’t mean Wardley suddenly isn’t world class because he lost to Dubois.

Dubois may have lost too and had flaws himself, but this simply means there are different levels of world class.

 

He has world class chin, heart, power.

That makes up for his other attributes which aren't world class.

Skills wise he is definitely not world class but you have to remember he turned pro late and come from white collar boxing.

So he's done remarkably well to get where he has.

 

basically, this. He’ll always be able to mix it up at world class due to the world class attributes he does have, but skills? Absolutely not. He looked worse last night than against Parker. I don’t get it. He looked like he’d really been learning, yet totally regressed.

I really like the guy. But f me, if he sticks around, that display last just shows us that he’s going to end up the poster child for CTE.

 

He showed a lack of experience last night IMO.

He got excited after the knockdowns and then kept looking for a big right hand swinging wildly and the big shot he was hoping to land never come again.

He tired himself out loading up big right hands and hitting nothing but air. And he was physically already looking very tired after the 5th & 6th rounds.

Wardley should've tried setting up the right hand up behind the jab and pacing himself better.

But you have to remember he's jumped in class alot in a very short time.

He's gone from going life a death with Frazier Clarke who's a British level Heavyweight.

To mixing it with Huni, Parker, Dubois.

Huni is a borderline top 10 Heavyweight.

Parker was seen as a top 3 Heavyweight.

Likewise the same as Dubois.

With the little experience Wardley has had he's definitely overachieved.

But I think his limitations were finally found out in regards to his overall skill level.

You can't keep going to the well at world level and expecting to win all the time.

 

Likeable but Butterbean probably beats him over 4 rounds

 

God no, he's a truly awful boxer but blessed with elite power and chin.
