Usyk has taken the soul of the entire British Heavyweight era with Dubois the only fighter to put a dent in him.

That win over Wardley, the man who destroyed Joseph Parker (Anthony Joshua's best win ), coming off the canvas twice to win must be the greatest World Heavyweight Title Win on UK soil since Lewis stopped Bruno.

 

We can't forget that he got smashed up by Joyce. I'm not denying that Dubois is decent but he's been sloppy and made hard work of fights, what the hell was he doing against Lerena?

 

Not yet imo. For one it depends on if you rate his win over Joshua as being better than Joshua and Fury's over Klitschko. Joshua and Fury were also unified champs that could have been considered the number 1 guy in the division for certain short periods.

Dubois got his first belt because Usyk vacated, and his second belt also because Usyk vacated (he atleast beat a champ to win this one). I'd also argue his second title shot that allowed him to become a two time champ was really undeserved. Coming off a one sided loss and just losing one title he's immediately given the opportunity to fight for another over the LONG list of guys that haven't and likely never will get title shots in this era. He at no point can have ever been considered the number 1 heavy on the planet, has a loss to Joyce he never avenged, got smoked by an old Usyk twice while Joshua and Fury went 24 rounds each with him, and gave him varying amounts of trouble. He's certainly accomplished more than either had at 28 but he'll need to do more to conclusively be above them imo. He's got plenty of time to do so but at the same time fighting this competition and being in all these tough fights so young can end up reducing his shelf life. Wouldn't be surprised if he's already on the decline by his early 30s.

 

Down three times in the first round against Kevin Lerena. That's Morrison against Bent stuff. That's basically what Dubois is, a modern day Tommy Morrison minus the highlight reel.

 

This is pretty much bang on for me.

I think you can make an argument that he’s overtaken Joshua at this point, but I’d edge towards AJ’s best win (Klitschko) topping Dubois’ best win (still AJ), even though Dubois has the better ‘depth’ of record.

Certainly don’t think he’s surpassed Fury yet - beating Klitschko at an earlier age, and those two wins over Wilder haven’t been matched yet.

I think he probably will surpass them both, but given all three have been comprehensively beaten by Usyk twice, he’ll forever be on the same sort of tier as those guys, and not in the same conversation as Lewis.

Get him in with Itauma and we’ll have a better idea as to where he stands.

 

Nope, needs a good couple of years with some solid defences to eclipse Fury and AJ.

 

I think itauma beats him, granted his defense isn't the best and he could be asleep before it even starts but he lacks in footwork and defence he certainly makes up for in speed. I think that speed and power would be to much and if he's constantly getting banged every time Moses throws he could take another knee

 

By your logic Joe Joyce must be in the GOAT conversation.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Hes a very good fighter but beating Wardley isn’t a better achievement than Fury beating Wlad (even if it was far more fun to watch) Or even AJ vs Wlad
