This is the weakest era in boxing I've ever seen

How many house hold names are there? Tanks gone he lost to Roach anyway why don't they reverse that decision when tank took a knee? Still he was good but he's retired. Crawford retired. Canelo the golden boy who got gifted decisions is finished. Overrated as hell anyway. Fury lost to a kickboxer and he got dethroned. A.J is a hype job who lost his prestige. Loma retired. Guys like Tszyu and Paro barely defended their belt or lost it the very next fight like Kambosos. Pacquaio the dinosaur somehow got a title shot and drew with the weakest champion I'm history in Barrios who didn't get a win as champion. The heavyweight division is so overrated it's not funny. How many great champions are there? Teo lost in 2023 like Kambosos yet got the win. Boxing is bad. Haney another one who got gifted a decision vs Loma. Charlo chickened out these last 3 years and Spence is making a come back.

Boxing lost its value these last 2 years imo. People got gifted decisions or retired or chickened out or lost their aura. Inoue is the best there is or Usyk and no one outside of the sport even knows who they are.

Tyson's been retired for 22 years yet him and Jake Paul are the biggest names in the world still lol. A youtuber became world famous and he's a grade A bum.

Yeah, it's pretty bad overall, but oddly enjoyable, and in my humble opinion, the heavyweight division is fairly stacked.

Tony Harrison still fighting. Thurman has fought 3 times in 7 years. It's a joke.

I do agree about the inactivity.

It staggers me how the likes of the Charlo brothers and Thurman get free title shots after fighting once every two years.

I think the heavyweight division is more exciting and stacked than ever. The only other era that can really compare is the 90's .

The 70's "Golden Era" had like 5-8 top guys with the rest being filler. And all of the top guys were (of course) from America.

The Klitschkos were top-tier, but the 00's era was a bit boring.

Just in the top 10 now you've got fighters like Usyk, Dubois, Kabayel, Fury. AJ, Wardley, Parker, Hrgovic, Miller, Zhang, Bakole (where is he?)... With a lot of fringe contenders as well.

But yeah, they're very inactive and fight too infrequently. The 70's and 90's were much better in terms of how frequently they fought.

Bah while I agree boxing just ain’t what it used to be
I believe the same can be said about the NFL, NBA, music industry, & car industry etc.
“They just don’t make’em like they used to…”

No it's not about that. Just look at all the big names gone like GGG, Mayweather of old and the ones mentioned. Today's champions suck and get belts because the real ones vacate or jump ship like Opetai etc. We have 50 year olds fighting for world titles against guys who have never won a world title. Boxing was flourishing not long ago. Not anymore.

This. Tszyu defended his belt twice against guys who've turned out to be good fighters. Not great. Unlucky against fundora 1 but that was his peak. He's going to get a world title shot if he wins just like Spence. It's a joke.

The sport is becoming more international. The last great heavyweights from America were Tyson and Holyfield. As far as the west goes, the good heavyweights are in the UK. All the notable American fighters are at weights below 160. Guys are going into NFL or NBA instead of taking up boxing.

Canelo is not nearly the star Mayweather and Pacquiao were a decade earlier.

The fights gets harder and harder to access.
