Do you think Ben Davisons tough cornerman tactic has ruined Wardley?

Simple question really do you think Wardley will now be ruined as a fighter after the beating he took or do you think he can come back?
The only thing you can say as a reason for him not pulling Wardley after 2 doctors visits an eye looking like the hunchback of notre dame and his nose flat to his face is Fabio is the champion and always has power. But if you are a coach you are employed first and foremost to train the fighter and get him ready for battle then to set tactics to beat the opponent in front of them but after that you are employed to protect the fighter and his health. A fighter like Fabio will never take a knee and will certainly never cry uncle, so as his coach it is your job to save him from himself.
Here for me is the problem Davison isn't a proper coach he is a mercenary after securing his bag and doesn't care for his fighters health at all.
We have seen it previously with Joshua when he was face down on the floor Davison running in scooping him up in the hope AJ wouldn't sack him.
Fury and Billy Joe both sacked him as they are proper boxers who know the game inside out and saw he was only good as a fitness trainer.
Moses should have a good look at that and get rid of him today and find someone who knows boxing who wont ruin him to secure his own bag.
Or do we just blame Howard Foster for being the second worst A star in the world behind IJL (no longer an A star for good reason)

Yes. The corner was far more at fault than Foster in my opinion. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Itauma needs to fook Boxercise off, travel to the depths of rural ukraine & do everything he can to get Papachenko out of retirement. A link up between those two could give us the greatest heavyweight since Ali

Agree think it was more on the corner than the ref but I honestly think they were all expecting each other to do it, including Dubois - I got the impression he wasn’t massively comfortable with hitting him those last couple rounds and wanted someone to step in
Think howard foster was baffled when the doctor allowed it to continue the first time in honesty

Wardley should of been pulled out by BD, he didn't do it.

Foster has been called about premature stoppages and tbf Wardley has had a few come from behind wins, he tried to give him a chance, the doctor I thought 2nd inspection certainly would wave it off.

End of 9th Wardley was done, in a bad way......continued the same BD should of simply thrown the towel in, we are not privvy to conversations but Dubois is heavy handed. This was no feather fisted Justis Huni.

A fighter can only be retired by the chief second. Fab’s trainer and chief second on the night as always was Robert Hodgins. He has a very close relationship with Fab and I was surprised not to see him pulled out after the 9th round… The corner has to collectively take responsibility, but ‘officially’ it wasn’t Ben Davison’s call to make.

Yes, I agree 100%. You could tell Foster was thinking, how the hell are you lot thinking this is ok. I think his reputation was in his mind, thinking he is known for early stoppages so he wanted to let it go. I even posted before the fight, he shouldn’t be doing it because he is too cautious. Although he does have his moments… he allowed Povetkin to take a 3 yard run up and take a knocked out on feet Price’s head off. Could have killed him that.

Wardley was walking out of his corner like he was absolutely rotten. Madness.

I never knew this, very interesting. Is this rule enforced by all sanctioning bodies? I only ask as I'm sure I've seen head trainers throw in the towel. Maybe Adam Booth for Josh Kelly against Avanesyan?

Fabio has had limited white collar fights and no amateur career. The only miles he has put on the clock are in the ring and in sparring as a professional. He is also only 31.

It is extremely premature to say this is the end of him.

He needs to take a long hard look at Davison and his corner. However, he does not have as many miles on the clock as many HWs of his age.

There is another question though about his fighting style going forward and if it evolves, or if he just continues to rely on power and guts.

Surely he can develop a better jab and defend the overhand counter left better.

The chief second is the head trainer who’s responsible for managing the fighter between rounds and coordinating the rest of the corner team. The ref normally asks in the dressing room but sometimes in the ring who the chief second is. Anyone can throw the towel but the referee technically has final authority and can ignore it until the chief second indicates he wants the bout stopped.

I can't remember the last time I've seen a high level heavyweight beatdown that sustained.

He'd have been better off if he was knocked out earlier.

It'll be interesting to see how he comes back as that was probably car crash level damage he took.

When Wardley came out at the start of the 10th after having a full minute to recover and was still staggering all over the place then the fight should have been stopped there and then.

But also on Howard Foster, I though part of a refs training involved looking at a gait disturbance like that as being one of the biggest red flags for signs of neurological damage, so when you see it, you stop the fight. Because other than actually falling over without getting hit, that was about as bad as gets. I couldn't believe it was allowed to carry on after that. I genuinely wouldn't have been shocked to wake up Sunday morning to the news that Fabio Wardley was dead.

I think Foster done a decent job refereeing he asked the doctors twice and no doubt Wardley said he wanted to continue. He probably should have waved it off when Wardley was stumbling but in all honesty he was still throwing. Only when he started to turn his back it was waved off.

Now I’ve never been one to bash Davidson as many in here do even though I personally think he’s a nob and looks like a moomin. He was awful and he should have pulled Wardley out at least 2 rounds before. He knows his fighter way better than Howard Foster, he was exhausted and badly beaten, towel should have went in.

I wanted DDD to win and thought he would batter Wardley but it was uncomfortable to watch, those ram rod jabs rattling Wardleys exhausted and dehydrated brain will surely damage him going forward.

Same. I was rooting for Dubois a lot. I am far from a prude but I was thinking it was getting out of hand even earlier than most. Long before the commentators were saying it.

Wardley is just a tougher British Wilder. One trick pony, he couldn’t stop Dubois with it when he was fresh and Dubois was cold. Dubois was sliding under it with relative ease after that second knockdown. How did they expect a completely drained and beaten up Wardley to ko him with it 7 rounds later. Dubois won every minute of every round except the two knockdowns. When you are that exhausted anything can **** you up, that’s why Wardley is an absolute warrior. He couldn’t even stand up. Know myslef when I used to do my fartlek and I’d see a couple of 8 stone little scallies. I’d think ‘****ignhell, if they wanna batter me now and rob me ‘ I’d have no chance!

I couldn’t believe the talk and votes on screen about who Wardley will fight straight after. Again, I’m usually one pushing back against the ‘he’ll never be the same again’ after a beating talk but for me he will never, ever be the same.
