Real shame he left it until he was almost 27 y/o to turn pro. I still maintain that had he turned pro one Olympic cycle earlier and moved up to HW in his athletic prime he toys with a these HWs he's beaten or toys with them even easier than he did

I agree with this. Best version of Usyk we've seen at HW was the one from the first AJ fight.

At 38 y/o with his belts wrapped around his waist he moseyed on into the backyard of a much younger, much bigger KO 95% savage puncher and not only shut up all the doubters and put an end to all the talk of Dubois being robbed in the first fight but he did so in emphatic KO of the Year contender fashion with a HL reel KO for the ages

I don't mean KO as in KTFO unconscious I mean he won both fights via KO

You could describe the KO in the rematch as a KO of the Year/No Mas of the Year contender but technically both wins are KO wins

So is Big Joe's win over Dubois but that was due to him voluntarily taking a knee due to the eye injury not because he'd been hurt and dropped heavily and discombobulatized like Usyk did him

Usyk legit stopped Dubois x 2 due to landing concussive punches, Big Joe due to an eye injury

I do consider no mas wins only behind JTFO KO wins in terms of prestige and Big Joe, like Usyk, simultaneously did both vs Dubois albeit Big Joe's was an accumulation JTFO KO due to injury whereas, conversely, in the first fight Usyk scored a one punch JTFO KO win over Dubois and it's even more impressive given how Usyk was only a few pounds off weighing 40lbs less than man mountain Big Joe

 

Yes and still so when years past his prime and long past his absolute athletic prime. It was an epic performance especially when you factor in age, size, location of the fight, all the talk of controversy re. the first fight, and the emphatic HL reel ending.

The Ring voted Norman vs Sasaki as KO of the Year and whilst it was a spectacular legit out cold KO Norman was reputedly much bigger than Sasaki and Sasaki is obviously not close to Dubois' level. I think they should've given it to Usyk as it was an iconic moment in HW boxing history
