pretty please? why on earth is he ranked so high? did he threaten to bang the daughter of some boxing org president and as a way to prevent him from doing so, they are giving him a world ranking?

He won a crap belt which gives him such a ranking so it's basically a loophole

It s not like he ranked no 1 in the world.

The Ring/TBRB have him at no 9.

    It's boxing.

You can move up the rankings the hard way by beating better ranked opposition, or you can do it the easy way by winning a **** belt or having your promoter slip someone a brown envelope.

    Explanation:
He is only ranked by one governing body.

They have him ranked as no 1 behind Usyk.

To further explain he is ranked 1 behind Usyk and ahead of every other boxer.

That's about as simply as I can explain it.

    Your welcome.

I like Gassiev, but it would be better if he's fight more often. He should have a fight scheduled by now.

If you are talking about Boxrec, it is because they transfer points when jumping a weight 1 to 1, and he was a stellar cruiser.

If you are talking about WBA, it is because he beat Pulev, who is hypothetically their #2 man.

If you are talking about Ring Magazine....well...they are the bible of boxing and held up here as the gold standard of ratings, so, I guess they just see something in him.

Anyway, I love the guy and hope he holds onto the regular title until Usyk retires, and gets e-mailed a belt.

I think he has been crowded out. Thus far, Itauma won't answer his team's calls, and anyone else worth a damn and acceptable to the WBA at the same time, just fought, or has a fight coming up.

Still, even fighting Nelson Hysa or Danier Pero, both ranked top ten by the WBA but realistically terrible, would be better than not fighting at all, right?

    Absolutely. Inactivity ruins a boxer.

Perhaps Itauma has avoided him but I doubt many others have . Dude lost to Otto Wallin. He is not a world beater. These days he is slow of hand, moves like a 40 year old, does not put consistent combos together, does not have a high work rate, doesn’t have great footwork. All he does is lathergically follow guys around hoping to land a big left hook.
