It’s yet to be seen if Usyk is even going to start fighting his mandatory’s or what he plans next. I definitely agree with you that Itauma v Dubois will be the far easier fight to make than Itauma v Usyk .
Imagine if seeing this just adds more fuel to David Allen's fire and he shocks the world on Saturday. Hell, after the Morrell fight I can believe anything. I always think a fighter must feel insulted when their opponent already has another fight made afterwards, like it's a foregone conclusion. It should be, but the closer this fight gets, the more I feel like something insane might happen. I mean the title is David vs. Goliath. Is it meant to be? Allen has always struggled with motivation but he seems pretty damn motivated and determined to be in shape for this one. You just never know. Hrgovic is super talented but there's always been a question for me about his mindset. If he comes into this fight overlooking Allen, there might be trouble. Adeleye is around similar level and Hrgovic let him back into it after after dominating. Allen hits nowhere near as hard as Adeleye but has a way better chin, never been knocked down in fact, and it'll be a surprise if Hrgovic is the first man to do it. I'm hoping, anyway. I've been worried for Allen about this fight ever since it was announced, and after what happened with Wardley, I don't know if I can stomach a similar kind of beating for yet another top guy.
this was my point and I agree. Hrgovic isn’t a big puncher. But he’s accurate, and he’s going to find any chin over and over. If someone is packing glass, he’ll shatter it. If they’re solid, yeah, no real danger.
I agree with this. The only thing is that Hrgovic typically doesn't have much gas, if he gets to the 11th I doubt he is firing much. For this reason I pick Itauma to win this one. But yeah, it would be a great fight.
Itauma British stoppage. He will flurry and Hrgovic will show his usual odd body language and the handpicked British ref will jump in to stop it.
this won’t be on par with Wardley-Dubois because Hrgovic doesn’t hit like Dubois. That one was so insane because, I mean, anyone taking that many flush punches from Dubois, that’s really not good. Wardley did show that every single thing we said about his intangibles was 100% correct, and on top of that, he’s got one of the best chins in the division. But ugh, that should have been stopped around round 8.
You're not sure if Hrgo or Gassiev is the bigger risk... LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Read my post again slowly instead of being so keen to jump on it ! The question I propositioned was why if Itauma’s Team have the Gassiev fight sitting there on a plate with the WBA mandatory position at stake,a direct route to Usyk are they now allegedly going to look for the Hrgovic fight instead ? That is why I posted I’m not sure as Itauma’s Team going after Hrgovic instead of Gassiev does make you wonder ! As for who is the bigger risk, until they have fought nobody can say that with 100% certainty,Boxing is full of upsets !
One bad split decision loss to a fighter like Wallin is not the end of a career, and a win over Gassiev would certainly be the biggest win of Itauma’s career at this point .
