Okay, maybe you're right. But in my opinion, Dubois will wipe the floor with him again, no matter how well Wardley trains or what strategy he adopts.
1.- Wardley has no business even getting back in the ring in 2026 after that beating 2.- Wardley should take a tune up against a D level opponent when he does return 3.- Since Dubois can't afford to wait on him he fights and could lose against an A level fighter.. Itauma? 4.- Then Wardley would rise as a very favorable opponent for a title shot or big money contender. 5.- And most importantly, another KO loss probably ends his competitive career and lowers him into the opponent status
It's a very winnable fight for Wardley. He put Dubios down twice, and Dubios had to throw the kitchen sink and blatantly foul to win yet another stoppage heavily influenced by cuts. I wish the ref would actually start docking points for it because he'll continue to foul if there's no incentive to stop. As for Wardley, he needs to use his jab and uppercuts more. He was much faster than Dubios but gassed himself out throwing too many right hands without setting them up.
Wardley barely has a jab, DD would would win that battle easy His only real hope is to go gung how from the get go and send Dubois on to a flurry of panic I just don't think he is good enough
When Wardley did throw the jab he beat Dubios to the punch. That's also a ridiculous strategy, and the same one that cost him the fight because he gassed himself out. He needs to save his energy, counter then apply pressure when Dubios is tired and hurt.
And done very little damage with that jab What your suggesting I said isn't correct Wardley failed to pounce on him at vital times That was his real failure alongside the predictability of his attacks Wardley saving his energy for later part of the fight? By then he might be beaten to a pulp again Too risky
Yeah Wardley threw nothing but home run knockout punches which emptied his tank early and I'm still not totally sold on Dubois. Dubois looked as impressive in the last 7 rounds against Wardley as he did against AJ but it counted for nought when facing Usyk. Having said that I'm not sure Fabio can learn how to throw stiff effective jabs in six months. I love his heart and he obviously has power. I think he took a lot of damage and likely has a compromised chin.
Doesn't need to do damage, it just needs to disrupt. Also you said "go gung ho from the get go". How else would you interpret that?
Dubois figured Wardley out by the 6th round, and then it quickly turned into a career-ending beating. I don't think Dubois was seriously hurt at any point. The first one was a flash knockdown because he starts so slow, and the second was him taking a knee, which was extremely smart, as he recovered quickly. Other than that, you could argue he won every single round. Wardley does not have the technical ability or ring IQ to figure out Dubois's jab. Like someone already pointed out, I can see this being a Joyce vs Zhang 2, possibly even worse, with how sustained the beating was. Not a good move, and his team should probably be talking him out of it.
Of course he needs to do damage Otherwise he'll not respect it and it won't disrupt Gung ho I'd say would include not standing off an opponent once they are in trouble Which Wardley rarely does but did on this occasion Tbh I don't think Wardley is good enough to beat Dubois DD was my pick on Saturday just gone and I'll stick with him in the rematch He is just a better all round fighter
I agree with alot of this but this fight is probably his only opportunity to win another belt and is imagine gives him another big pay day He might retire there after if unsuccessful which would be understandable with the money now on the bank
There’s no argument required. Not only did he win every other round, he won the remainder of round 1 and round 3 pre and post knockdowns where applicable. They were both only 10-9s for Wardley on my card. Dubois isn’t a clean fighter, but other than a minor instance of leading with the head, an awkward tackle (which did nothing other than run the clock down when neither man was in danger) and some strong-arming, Daniel wasn’t routinely breaking rules, and even so, none of his rough tactics contributed to the cuts really. The fight wasn’t stopped on cuts or visible damage either. It was stopped because Wardley couldn’t stand up straight or keep his hands up - because he’d been beaten like pancake batter for the last 6 rounds.
Don’t see the fight being any different. Maybe Wardley can have better aim and land a haymaker on Dubois Glass Jaw.
