I don't think Franklin was only there to collect his check. I think he saw a chance to win and struggled through the damage he took as long as he could, because he thought he would eventually get to itauma and had to see that he couldn't. Which is alread a statement to finish Franklin so convincingly, after whyte and joshua failed years earlier
Dave the white rhino Allen will be in full windmill mode Saturday night. Hrgovic wins 9/10 times but if he's dismissing Allen... well stranger things have happened. Or maybe being a Doncaster fella it's just wishful thinking in my part.
its gonna take moses less than 7 to crack that chin and lay him out. hrgovic dont have the smarts to stop the cannon balls.
if he shows up in shape, he has a shot but I said the same thing about his fight with Mak Allen’s weight lets me know he doesn’t take this seriously enough
I didn’t say Franklin didn’t try to win. He did. I said he knew his chances of being able to win were low. and yeah, finishing him was a statement. That’s the entire reason why he was selected. To be able to say Ituama easily KOd a guy that AJ and Whyte couldn’t.
Does Allen himself even want to win? Everything seems stacked against him now that everyone seems to know that Warren and Queensbury are looking to match Hrgovic with Itauma next and wouldn’t want anything to jeopardise that. Allen has also said repeatedly in the past that he has no wish to fight Itauma because he doesn’t think he has a chance of beating him so it all points to a clear Hrgovic win on Saturday not that I think it’ll be fixed or anything.
It's boxing politics and not the threat level of each fighter. Gassiev has looked like complete dog **** at HW. Hrgo has looked like a top 10 guy for almost a decade. The idea that a promising prospect is more threatened by smaller, limited, worse Gassiev is absurd. Slow, useless Wallin beat Gassiev. I had the misfortune of watching the fight. Gassiev followed him around the ring like a puppy, it was sad as hell.
Not sure he can replicate Dubois headbutts, or his elbows. Also Itauma can't low blow as well as Dubois either so Hrgovic might be better than he was in his only loss.
I personally don't get why you're all so confident itauma will KO Hrgovic. Filip has a good chin and lasted long against Zhang and Dubois. Hrgovic will finally show itauma what adversity feels like. I see this going the distance TBH. Itauma is a better boxer than Dubois but not the same amount of power.
Probably because Hrgovic has a tendancy to switch off and get lazy when things don't go his way. Not something you want to do against an explosive fighter. Personally I think he was lucky to not be waved off against Zhang, and Dubios stopped him in 8. After that much punishment there must be a few cracks in that chin.
