Gassing him and taking it late yeah. But why then was there zero movement from Allen? He came in lighter than usual - why didn’t he try to use the ring? Goes to show that despite boasting about coming in “light” he is still way overweight.

Tbf to Dave when them kind of punches start landing it probably stops any chance of him getting any kind of gameplan going. At this stage Dave shouldnt be exposed to that kind of power.

Eddie saying he can enjoy the rest of his life but post boxing the chances are dave will be punchy. The last fight was a stupid one this one was ridiculous.

Dave could have and should have made some half decent money fighting guys around his level.

 

Hearn talking like Allen just made 10 million. Be surprised if it was a few hundred grand although tbf that will get you about 6 houses in Donny.

 

It's a master stroke by Frank.

An easy, easy victory for Hrgovic against and opponent that will ensure it's in front of a lot of casual eyes, building him nicely for a much bigger UK opponent next, presumably whilst earning a decent pay day.

All with the added bonus of putting more miles on the clock and reputational damage on a rival promoters ticket seller.

Really don’t know, I’m just reading between the lines-Allen’s supposed strength in durability and hgrovic supposed weakness in gassing-I only switched on at the start of the 2nd round and thought Allen just looked awful but that’s the vibe I got that he was trying to ride it out, as you say no head movement or anything just happy to be a punch bag

Usually when i watch these type of fights i think along the lines of they’ll regret that performance in the morning and wish they’d left a bit more in the ring but im not sure Dave Allen is that kind of guy?

 

Hrgovic masterfully sold to the casuals with wins over Joyce, Adelayde and Allen. Perfect opponent for Moses now. Those papier-mâché eyes brows and single tempo means he won’t last 4 rounds.

 

Agree Moses will be too fast for him he looks cumbersome against anyone other than Allen and Ituama is probably the fastest in the division .

Eddie is just a commission agent now, he made a few quid for 0 effort so he is happy.

I dont buy this dave is a great guy stuff.

He has had the pants down of the paying British punters more than most boxers.

Turns up for the majority of his fights as a fat slob and then promises post fight he will be fitter next time.

His only recent "win" is Bosh, who is barely event area level.

Personally I am so bored of Allen, hopefully this nonsense ends soon

 

I don't blame him at all; he's in the toughest game in the world and he's entitled to make as much from it as he can. It's not his fault that for some reason he's struck a chord with the public - boxing people know his limitations but somehow casuals are buying into the fairytale. My contempt is reserved for people like Eddie, who put him into these fights. It will be interesting to see what happens if he does get a British title shot because years ago the Board wouldn't have sanctioned it. Now they'll let it go ahead because money talks and David Allen makes it for everyone.

 

Can you imagine the Dave Allen training montage video, there'd be no Eye Of The Tiger/Hearts On Fire/Vince Dicola playing over it that's for sure.

 

The way Hrgovic was talking after the fight he doesn't want any part of Moses.

Dave is an area level fighter with a likeable personality. The fight was a total mismatch.
