I don’t want to be critical as I do like him but where is he going? I don’t see him beating Usyk because he has nothing Usyk hasn’t seen before at heavy except for having an iron chin.

I think he could be competitive vs Kabayel but I do think Kabayel could out work him to win a decision.

I am actually interested in seeing him vs Dubois but Dubois is tied up.

I know he is fighting Itauama next. I know Itauma will probably beat him but let’s say he manages to chin Itauma. Where does he go from there?

Apparently he had reservoirs of talent in the amateurs he has not seen as a pro. At 33, he's not getting any better.

sure. I know Mendoza was big on him. I think he is a bit basic- good jab and good right hand. Strong chin. Solid fundamentally.

but nothing super special. Not especially fast. His work rate used to be better. He was sort of like a quicker Joyce - a big guy with a good work rate. But he punches himself out these days.

Hence the use of the slightly sardonic, "apparently."

I think he can get a belt whenever Usyk retires. Not sure how long he'd be able to hold onto it though as he's turning 34 this year and imo is already kind of past his prime. That period before the Zhang fight where it seemed he was being badly ducked I think took something out of him. Didn't really have good opponents to motivate himself against so he wasn't training as hard. Then his father passed away iirc. Then he fought Zhang and I think that was probably the last fight of his prime. Was the last time he looked mobile and seemed motivated. After that fight he basically just became a plodding, lazy, smarter version of Joe Joyce but with a worse gas tank. Looked unimpressive against Mckean, punched himself out against Dubois and got stopped in what was his biggest opportunity(partially because of headbutts to be fair).

If he manages to beat Itauma which I don't think he will at this stage (gives him his toughest fight though imo) he could take on Kabayel if he doesn't get the Usyk shot, maybe Parker in his comeback fight, Bakole or a rematch with Zhang or Dubois. If he beat Itauma I'd hope Usyk would have his fight after Rico and Kabayel be against him but not sure that would happen. He could eventually fight for a vacant belt. But again I think he's already on the decline and if those cuts he got against Dubois keep reopening then I don't see him holding onto a belt for too long.

I agree with you. I think a lot of guys who are limited can look good in amateurs. Guys like Biggs and Tillman lacked power and hence could look good in amateurs . Hrgovic has good size and solid power and was just too good for many average amateur heavies without being a special fighter himself.

We didn’t really learn anything after tonight. He looked great against Allen. Let’s see how he looks after Itauma.

I like him in a Bond villain way. He’s dark and funny. I’m not sure he’s got the goods though.

Hes a pretty solid albeit unspectacular fighter.

He's good enough and durable so a fight with Itauma should tell us all we need to know about Moses.

Hrgovic is so slow and clunky. Itauma will ko him in 3.

This guy was going to be a future world champion everyone said. 3 years ago everyone was raving about him. 3 years later nothing's changed.

Hrgovic is made for Itauma. Moses will tear him to shreds, with his one tempo rhythm and papier-mâché eyebrows it won’t last 3 rounds.

Hrgovic has kind of a had a weird career. Like a lot of rando dudes that pop up with undefeated records, he fought no one of note in his early career. Kind of like a Makhmudov, a Franklin, etc. except he was holding those pointless International titles. He gets a gift of a decision versus Zhang and this somehow entitles him to a mandatory shot for one of Usyk's belts. He proceeds to sit around waiting for his chance instead of taking some bigger fights to get his name out there and prove he's worth something. Stinkers versus McKean and de Mori, a couple of scrubs, kinda dampen any hype he had. Then he gets headbutted to death by Diglett.

Usually that would have been it. We'd have never heard from him again. Except somehow he swings a fight against well past it post-chin cracking Joyce. Doesn't look spectacular there, but gets the win. Then he signs with Queensberry and gets a fight with domestic level goober Adeleye. He struggles some in that one, but wins. Now they feed him Dumbo Dave and he's looking to be the step up fight for Itauma.

I don't really understand why anyone rates this guy. He's not as abysmally slow as Joyce, but he's close. He hardly moves in the ring. He doesn't move his head whatsoever. His stamina is abysmal and he struggles to pace himself in fights. He rarely, if ever, uses his whole kinetic chain to throw punches so he's a fairly feather fisted arm puncher. He develops giant cuts on his eyelids if you sneeze in his general direction. And he has no punch variety outside of the ol' 1-2. In point of fact, the only thing he's got going for him is that his head is made out of stone. Oh, he's also a complete bore.

Somehow this guy is considered a Top 10 heavy who is going to challenge for belts? Explain it to me like I'm 5, because I just don't get it. He would be just another Makhmudov (with maybe slightly better skills) if he'd faced tougher competition up to this point. And while I'm of the opinion Itauma is well over-hyped and isn't going to be the world destroyer a lot of folks think he already is, I think Hrgovic is pretty well the perfect opponent for him. Someone who will at least throw some punches back, but who is a statue with slow, easily avoidable offense and who will probably be stopped on cuts before any weirdness can happen.

Hrgovic could beat anyone in the division. Not saying he would but theres no one hes incapable of beating. He could win a rematch with Dubois.

Hrgovic did what he was supposed to do if he carried Allen people wouldn't be happy either.
