And, to a degree, modern vs pre 70's fighters.

Rodriguez for me. The list of opponents that El Feo has faced and beaten outweighs Wlad’s dominance during his run IMO. Far more versatile fighter as well.

It's based on more than just popularity even with Ali.

Agreed ... but popularity and having a trainload of guys propping you up doesn't hurt either.

Did I just miss that Wlad came back and beat AJ, Fury and Usyk and retired again and that's why these are real threads or did something else happen? Something in the space-time continuum disrupted?

Came back? What are you talking about? Klitschko has been the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since 2016 and never retired. Do you need a glass of water? I don't think you're feeling well.

That's a sh** list if you only have 2 HWs on a list of 25.

By heavyweights I mean like career heavyweights. For example I have Bob Fitzsimmons on there but I don't consider him a career heavyweight. Does that make sense? Ali and Louis are the only people who spent their whole career at heavyweight who would be on my top 25.

I think a way to look at it is like this. The third greatest heavyweight is probably Lennox Lewis or Larry Holmes. So the question is since we already put Ali and Louis above them, are there 23 boxers who were not career heavyweights who had greater p4p careers than a Lewis or Holmes?

In no real order. I'm just naming 23 boxers greater than Lewis/Holmes off the top of the dome. This might not even be the exact guys I would have on my top 25. The numbers are just there so I don't lose count lmao

    1 - Sam Langford
    2 - Harry Greb
    3 - Ray Robinson
    4 - Henry Armstrong
    5 - Ezzard Charles
    6 - Benny Leonard
    7 - Bob Fitzsimmons
    8 - Joe Gans
    9 - Roberto Duran
    10 - Mickey Walker
    11 - Sugar Ray Leonard
    12 - Archie Moore
    13 - Barney Ross
    14 - Jimmy Mclarnin
    15 - Tony Canzoneri
    16 - Willie Pep
    17 - Sandy Saddler
    18 - George Dixon
    19 - Packey Mcfarland
    20 - Terry Mcgovern
    21 - Charley Burley
    22 - Billy Conn
    23 - Holman Williams

There we go, not in order and maybe not exactly who would be in my top 25 but there's 23 boxers who weren't only heavyweights who would keep Lewis/Holmes out of a p4p top 25.

    Hi Buddy.
Excellent pics, shows a dearth of knowledge, and I don't ,as a rule do lists, too old with decreasing memory, but if I did, it would look pretty much same as yours, thanks.

I don't think you understood his post entirely.

He's on about fighters who fought their whole career at Heavyweight.

Not fighters who moved up to Heavyweight like Holyfield, Usyk, Charles, etc.

So in regards to fighters who fought their whole career at Heavyweight then yes objectively Ali & Louis are the only ones deserving of top 25.
