Haney is only where he is because of that robbery vs Loma. Padded record lost in Mexico too. Massive weight bully and Garcia belted him like a pinyada.

Albright is one of those fighters who is very difficult to look good against; he's gangly, very durable and knows how to survive. Ortiz is another who is difficult to look good against, and Davis managed it and was the first to stop him. He's only fought Ortiz and Albright again since he left Bomac, hasn't he? The Ortiz one was a solid win, I think. I think he looked more explosive under Bomac, but if he were still with Bomac, those two fights he's had since would've played out similarly. Hard to say really given the awkwardness of Ortiz and Albright.

Good post I agree. I think a good opponent for Keyshawn to showcase more of his arsenal at 147 would be someone like Teofimo. I think their styles would suit each other well.

I'd favour Haney by UD. I don't think Keyshawn does very well on the front foot compared to how he deals with aggressive fighters and if spoilers like Albright and Jamaine Ortiz gave him plenty of problems, then a more disciplined and versatile spoiler like Haney would give him fits imo. And at a certain point Keyshawn probably gets too caught up in his emotions and lets the fight slip further and further away.

Strongly linked with Zuffa as no other promotion seems willing to pay Haney what he believes he is worth

I think elusive outboxers are the type of fighters to give Keyshawn the most trouble. Haney wins 8-4 imo

Haney was big for 135, 140, hell he is big at 147. The thing that surprised me is his power at 147. Maybe the extreme weight drain also took power away from him. He seems to have more pop in his power at 147. Haney , to me, is also way faster than Davis. Davis doesn't seem like he will be anything special at 147.

I hope they make the fight.

Did Albright and Ortiz give him problems? Both fights (well all three if counting both fights with Albright) were close to being shut outs.

Just because he was winning rounds doesn't mean he looked especially impressive, at least not imo.

‘Not impressive’ isn’t the same as ‘gave him problems’ tho. Keyshawn didn’t set the world alight in those fights but he didn’t have any problems winning comfortably.

    Keyshawn Davis wins this

Haney defense isn't that good vs fighters his size who are athletic

The power difference will be huge

I'd go with Davis in a heartbeat over Haney.
