Has a new HW era begun, is this the Dubois/Itauma era?

Only in terms of hype. Who did they beat?

Might as well call it the Kabayel era as he is still undefeated

I get that he passes the eye test, but he fights journeymen and old guys damn near exclusively.

 

He claims at least two more fights after this, maybe more, so it's his division until beaten or he retires

 

The problem is, there are no young fighters outside of Itauma coming up that look unbeatable or have that star power about them.

10 years we had AJ and Wilder brutally KOing everyone they fought with Fury also being a very awkward and technically sound boxer. Even Whyte looked decent for a spell.

I personally think boxing could be in trouble when the likes of Usyk, Fury, AJ and Wilder hang them up.

Even Itauma doesn’t seem to be getting any real following behind him. He really needs some marketing

 

Have to agree with this, unfortunately. Bloke is nearly 40 and takes upwards of a year off at a time. Absolutely shocking opponent selection given his past resume. Legs will only continue to decline. A retirement announcement soon wouldn't surprise me.

Have you seen his interviews? Itauma has absolutely no charisma or speaking skills whatsoever. He has less personality and aura than AJ, which is saying something. The only way he crosses that casual barrier is if he continues to brutally KO every single person in his path.

He best hope the KO streak continues for marketability sake.

 

I should think boxing fans would be thrilled to be rid of Fury and Wilder who wasted their primes with ducking and fighting terrible opponents.

Lots of guys look great knocking out journeyman types. So if that's your jam plenty of guys will suffice.

 

Folks from a certain island just can't not get ahead of themselves when a fighter shows a bit of promise. They crowd into a hype train, crash, crash again, then wonder why they never went anywhere. Maybe let fighters get past the Andy Ruiz tests first to see if they're legit and then go all in.

 

Still Usyks era until he retires or is beaten. Think Ali in the late 70s.

Dubois just can't beat Usyk. He lost to Joyce via injury in a fight he was having success in for spell, then got that injury and was counted out. He's developing into the next best of this era.

Fury hasnt beaten a live body since Whyte and many would debate the Whyte wins quality. He obviously is slowing down, will be interesting to see what happens if he decides to fight someone dangerous again that can punch now that his feet aren't as fast

Wardley I feel like he's going to age quickly because of the lack of defense, when that chin goes it's going to be ugly.

Itauama again, he looks good but the hype doesn't match the results thus far so let's see how he does as his opponents get tougher and better

The American scene is atrocious, there is no one. Torrez is going to be brutally KOd by someone who can punch. Maybe someone will step up from fighting uber drivers on non televised cards in bingo halls so you never know, but currently it's very bleak. Jared Anderson hasn't fought in 15 months, has an injury and was adamant about retiring at 27.

Jalolovs pro career should be "JalLOLov" because it's obvious he's going for a third gold medal and will not be winning or fighting for a world title anytime soon.

As long as all the belts and trinkets are worn by Usyk it is still the Usyk era,when they are worn by somebody else then that is the new era !

 

The center of boxing is Britain, right now, and the have Itauama, Wardley, and Dubois. Also, guys come out of nowhere, and Frank Warren keeps trying to find the next guy. Things will be fine in terms of staying like they are.

Can boxing expand? That is tougher to say.

Brutally stopped by AJ in his sixteenth fight via the uppercut. Headbutt knockdown of Joesph Parker to squeak out a MD. Brutally stopped by a forty plus year old Povetkin via the uppercut. Stopped by Fury via the uppercut.

If you constantly get knocked out by the same punch you aren't decent. Whyte has always been a fat blob with a monster left hook and nothing more.

 

I don’t think that’s true for Fury. He fought Wlad in 2015 who was on a 10 year winning streak. He’s went to the US to fight Wilder. He probably would have fought AJ had Wilder not forced the third fight. And he fought Usyk twice.
I do think that AJ ducked the very biggest fights when they were available
