47 of his 64 kickboxing fights were scheduled for 3 rounds. Only 17 were scheduled for five.

He's had four fights since 2024. Three of the four were scheduled for three rounds.

The guy's longest fight lasted 15 minutes.

Like I said, if he's not hyperventilating after three rounds (should it go that long), I'll be shocked. .

It's nice of you to offer, but I've watched kickboxing here and there for the last 40 years. It used to be on ESPN all the time. I get it. (My wife is Dutch.)

But Rico was even interviewed like a week ago and said training for a 12-rounder (in the gym) is harder than he expected.

Conor McGregor did well against Floyd Mayweather, until he hit the wall and the fight lasted longer than he'd ever gone before in an MMA fight.

And, endurance aside, Hughie Fury just beat him up (like beat him up) in the gym two weeks ago. Rico himself posted a video showing his battered face, mouth and body. Hughie Fury isn't a rated fighter.

This isn't going to end well. He's a novice. And he's 37. And he's never been in a fight longer than 15 minutes.

It's sort of a wasted camp for Usyk. He only fights once a year as it is.

 

Kickboxing is a sprint, boxing is a marathon.

Maybe Rico surprises us, but I don't see it going well considering Usyk's general strategy is to take his time at the start and gradually increase his pace until he drowns his opponents late in the fight.

I guess I'll see in the highlights how long it lasts. I ain't paying for an exhibition.

 

In the first round, Rico is going to take at least one left hand that he didn't see coming.

 

His last fight went 5 rounds.
But yes, in kick-boxing, he is known for having great stamina. Even in 3 and 5 round fights he is able to push and maintain a greater pace than most others in the sport.

 

He's also known for getting dropped on the floor by a stiff breeze.

Just depends how long Usyk wants to carry this dude to placate Turki. Whenever he feels like finishing it, he will.

 

I feel bad for him. I just saw a video of him talking about losing his mom. I hope he can pull a Douglas but I doubt it

 

I think the biggest threat to Usyk in this fight is Rico’s muscle memory where he actually throws a kick at some point in the fight.

 

Have tried getting excited about this but can't even begin to understand how.

Perhaps the scenery will be some consolation for the farce?

Douglas was given odds of 1:42 by bookies against Tyson if I remember correctly.
