No win decision, no win fight, rather - draw.

Have you seen the fight? What did you score it?

I have never judged any fight myself. Fury won the fight on points. But just because of the two knockdowns, the "draw" seems to me to be a fairer decision than Fury's win.

That's the point tho. It wasn't a fairer decision than a fury win because Fury deserved to win the fight. If you drop someone twice then lose almost every other round no, you do not deserve to win.

That's the point of the story.
Wilder did not win, and for the champion to defend the title, a draw is enough.

Except in the case of Bobby Fischer, the rules were changed there. With a draw, the champion would lose the title. That's why he stopped playing chess; he didn't go crazy as everyone wanted to portray it.
And when Bobby won the title against Spassky, the draw was not enough to make him champion; he had to win.
Bobby Fisher said a lot of things that the world powers didn't like, and he paid the price for it.

With Bowe/Holyfield 2 I watched the bout live and I rewatched it twice and I always come up with 6-6 in rounds. I do believe Holyfield won his rounds bigger but we're they 10-8 worthy? Thats the question.
It was a tough way to lose the title for Riddick Bowe. He didn't get much sympathy because Holyfield was naturally smaller and had alot of fans in his corner.

Bowe also didn't give himself the best chance to win by being 12bls heavier than fight 1. He fought a very good fight and probably should have at least kept his title.
Did the fan man screw Bowe? I think he did. Big Daddy was finding Holyfield and starting to catch his rhythm when the stoppage occurred. Evander started the fight strong but Riddick might have worn him down had the stoppage not happened.
Holyfield had more at the end as a result.
Great fight though. Both boxers fought their tails off. It was also a fascinating bout to watch the two head trainers duel in a sense. Emanual Steward and Eddie Futch.

To state the bleeding obvious, he did not deserve any semblance of a draw, either.

Stick to the stories about Bobby Fischer. I didn't turn into offtopic by accident :D

A draw is not even theoretically possible in tennis. You went offtopic :)
John Doe is wrong to think that a draw is impossible in boxing. Chess and Bobby Fischer are a special story.

The crux of the matter is that he believes a draw was a fair verdict in Wilder - Fury 1 because fury was on the canvas twice. Myself and about 90% of others believe Fury should have won, and clear at that.

To be fair JT — With the right amount of mental gymnastics, the legitimacy of a Wilder/Fury I Draw can be argued.

However, the gymnastics are far more impressive than the boxing ability Wilder is alleged to have used in achieving said Draw.

To me, Fury Vs. Wilder 1 more fair than Lewis Vs. Holyfield 1 draw.
