Not entirely sure I understand the question, but I will try to answer.

I am more expansive with who is a "rated" guy. I understand that the Ring is respected because they are allegedly non-partizan, but it is the organizations that THE FIGHTERS have to navigate to get shots, move up and hold positions. Also, I don't always agree with the Ring, or think that they are non-partisan.

So the feedback that I get when I site, for example, that Fury has fought six fights against guys currently ranked and about twelve against guys who were ranked at one time or another is "but they weren't all Ring ranked." I do not agree with this. A fighter could let his whole career go by without a guy who is ranked by the Ring agreeing to fight him. Gassiev is a bit in that position now. Look at the Ring rankings...who in those rankings is going to agree to fight him? Not Itauma...we know that much. Nor do I even agree with Itauma being ranked by the Ring at this point.

But this is a case where I used Flores' own metric...the glorious, golden Ring magazine ratings. I am still waiting for my acknowledgment.

 

Luckily, we will most likely see it next, if Canelo beats Mbilli.
