Tony Bellew is looking at Alistair like that female Dutch reporter back in the day.

It was Begic's swan song/last payday, it seems. I guess they felt he at least earned the purse with his overall career numbers. And, let's face it, Sheeraz fighting in Egypt? We know what that was all about. Begic was the sacrificial lamb. Made the locals feel good.

When they do these combat sports crossovers, the fighter really should have a couple of lower level opponents to test the waters and build up to making a headline ppv event much more competitive than it otherwise turns out. Then again you lose that mystery factor for casuals to lap it up and the boxer has more tape to dissect within the actual boxing ring and they could fail miserably against weaker opposition so it's like a catch 22.

I will not accept this, because this implies that Wilder had a more successful reign than Marciano.

Second consecutive lineal title defense for Usyk tho. This would put him one short of Lewis, who I think successfully defended his lineal championship three times on two separate runs.
And this puts Wilder at zero, lol.

For reference, during the 4 belt era:
    Canelo - 4 defenses
    Hopkins - 6
    Josh Taylor - 1
    Haney - 2
    Inoue - 7

Turns out that its extremely difficult to keep all 4 belts and defend them at the same time.
Hopkins feels extremely underrated in this regard, while Inoue´s recent run seems underappreciated at the same time.

It's ridiculous. Wealthy connected people with no idea can make these circus shows happen.

No matter what he achieved in kickboxing, it is still kickboxing. It is not boxing. This is on par with an Ngannou fight.

Well not really because Wilder's defenses are all fictional.

That could never happen, because the non-boxer would get found out against said lower level opponents, and it would ruin the big payday he otherwise would've got against the big A-side boxer

Oladipo: "And that wasn't a big upset (when Buster beat Tyson in Tokyo)." Say what? Try 40-1 odds.
