Aafter watching this fight, man, Marciano would be a nightmare matchup for Usyk. Rico Verhoeven, with shades of Buddy Baer, was winning...what a robbery of a fight
Not sure about that but I have always said: just because someone is unbeaten does not mean they are unbeatable. a guy like Foreman would be a nightmare for Usyk. He would March forward and land devestating shots. Usyk is the best hw of his era but he has never been this unbeatable monster. I have always said he would struggle far more vs guys who can match his speed and endurance than vs the big men who slow down past round 6 or 7.
Usyk looked like a shell of himself. He had no bounce in his step at all. Probably time to hang it up. Not sure if he just didn’t take this guy seriously or what. That being said as much as I love Marciano not sure he could beat a prime Usyk. Would have been a great match though, the Buddy Baer thing had me dying def some similarities there. Rico was old school in many good ways. Not sure his style will work for all but it def gave Usyk headaches
Big strong very Awkward opponent for Usyk. Rico was constantly moving and moving his head most of the bout while jabbing and mauling. In some ways pulling a Usyk on Usyk. Fight was obviously stopped too soon, the challenger deserved to come out for round 12.
There is nothing more that Rocky resembles than a 6 foot 5, 255 pound dude with 80 inch reach and good footwork. They are mirror images.
Listen, I got a Gameboy with the speaker and the screen magnifier and I am one of the cool kids and I do not need to deal with this right now...
Rocky may do better than you would think. He scraps bobs and weaves and toughs it out and gets out of the first 3 round thru heavy artillery. Surprise! Usyk just keeps pinpointing shots and wins in 5th round with tko after he decks Rocky a few times.
Marciano would have obliterated Ali. I just watched Ali-Holmes, and its clear that Ali would have had nothing for The Rock.
