Which will help make up for Usyk’s last performance: beating Rico in rematch or beating Kabayel?

If he rematches Rico he's ducking Kabayel, if he fights Kabayel he's ducking the rematch.

Regardless of the early stoppage Rico was highly likely getting KO'd in the final round we know that Usyk is a terror in the final round and even that slow, sluggish and aged version of him was not going to let Rico off the hook come that round given how badly Rico was hurt and how Usyk had been doing better and better as the fight progressed.

Had he not been so slow and sluggish he would've got him out of there in the 4th when he had him badly hurt but I cannot envisage him not going all out in the 12th to finish the job given what was on the line

But to answer your question. Re. of which of them he fights he has to come in a lot lighter but even if he does he took a lot of heavy shots tonight off the much bigger man and it's only going to have put more miles on his odometer and even though many are trying to dismiss age as being a valid excuses for his poor performance which is comical he is an old man for a boxer and as I've been saying for years he'd already declined a great deal before tonight so him beating someone like Kabayel now is a much bigger ask than it would've been even a year ago. He looked terrible tonight and every bit his 39 years

 

There's zero doubt about it and it was inevitable it was going to happen in his next few fights regardless of who the opponent was and is why I wanted him to retire on top at worst after the Dubois rematch.

That's not to discredit Rico in any shape or form because he did amazing and deserves huge credit for his performance. But just compare Usyk to how he looked tonight to how he looked even in his last fight when already very noticeably stiffer and slower than the version of a few years ago, let alone the prime version. He's a idiot for not heeding the advice of the people surrounding him who told him he should call it a day.
