Who should clean Usyk's mess?

Would actually be a good match for Itauma. Probably better for Itauma to get a fight like this in before he fights Hrgovic tbh because that one seems like too much of a jump in quality to me. If Itauma wins dominantly, which he probably would, it'd set up a fight with Usyk.

 

Honestly:

I want to see now either Rico or Badr Hari in kickboxing K-1 fight against Usyk or some of the guys you mentioned. Its time a elite boxer goes into MMA or kickboxing to "clean the mess up". If Usyk manages to beat Rico in kickboxing, he wouldnt just clean up his mess, he would become even a bigger legend as he is right now already.

Rico vs Uyk rematch in a 12 rounder K-1 rules, bring it on. Or AJ, Ituma etc. could fight Rico in K-1 too, I dont care which one.

Its time for this now. We had with McGregor, Ngannou and Verhoeven now three guys who went from MMA or Kickboxing in pro Boxing, now its time for an elite pro boxer to fight someone like Rico in Kickboxing.

 

Ajagba should be the guy to do it. An unknown heavyweight punching a hole through Rico will put this entire situation into perspective

 

I think he cleared it up himself in the 11th tbh.

Verhoeven did better than expected, but I don't understand why there's the expectation of such a wide gap between two sports which share so many of the same skill sets.

Dillian Whyte is a great example of a former highly ranked kickboxer, UK #1 for 5 years, European Champion, finished his career 20-1, who then transferred his skills to boxing, to beat the likes of Povetkin and former World Champion Joseph Parker.

Josh Taylor is also a former kickboxer, although never reached the heights of Whyte in that discipline. And Taylor actually predicted that Verhoeven would be more tricky than pundits were predicting before the fight because of his knowledge of his background.

My understanding is that Josh Taylor was primarily an ITF taekwondo fighter before he switched to boxing

Contrast with Chris Algieri, a former kickboxing and boxing world champion, who gave Rico no chance

 

I think Rico is far better than Ngannou and would love to see him fight Joshua. No way is Joshua taking the fight though as Ricos feints and angles would give him fits.

I honestly think Rico would KO him within 6.

 

The Dustman Daniel Dubois.

If anyone didn’t see this classic, Dubois awkwardly confronted Wardley at the press conference saying he heard what he said about him being a “Dustman” if he wasn’t a boxer. Wardley was confused and then remembered he’d said Dubois probably would be taking the garbage out if he wasn’t a boxer.

 

His new brother AJ. He has an experience with cleaning up the mess too.

A boxer deciding to fight in kickboxing would be like an NHL star deciding to play Lacrosse, an NFL player playing rugby, or a Tennis star playing Jai Alai. No point going to a far inferior sport.

 

Anybody with decent skill, or any fairly big puncher with an uppercut. Usyk along with being under prepared also just wasn't enough of an offensive threat in terms of raw power to walk through Verhoven. Similar to what happened with Fury against Ngannou. And just like Ngannou, if Verhoven fights a harder hitting more offensively dangerous heavyweight, or even just a better prepared Usyk, he gets walked through.
