    It is.

Ali had 52 professional fights and was a legend. Much more embarrassing losing to a seven fight (with one draw) novice who was a LHW in the Olympics than beating aN enormous kickboxing legend by TKO while about even on the cards.

When was Ricos last pro boxing match prior to Usyk again ? I think it was over a decade ago wasn't it ? Laughable, you're just going to sweep this under the rug and Verhoeven has no boxing amateur background unlike Leon Spinks, not to mention Leon Spinks had more fights, was far more active and wasn't based in a different sport

Yeah that Spinks fight being considered a joke doesn't make it nearly as bad as avoiding your mandatory challengers to face a nobody who had practically 0 pro boxing experience. Like you think these fights being considered a joke doesn't prove my point. It does, because such gimick fights didn't have nearly as many asterisks as this one. This entire fight between Usyk and Verhoeven was a total joke and much worse just as you've proven

Spinks was an unbeaten gold medalist who fought to a draw vs club fighter/journeyman Scott LeDoux

Who had Spinks beaten in his 6 wins going into his HW title fight vs Ali?

Ali was 36 y/o not 39 and Spinks was 20lbs lighter than Ali and 2'' shorter with a shorter reach not a giant of a man who absolutely dwarfed Ali. Ali never fought anyone who held near the size advantage over him that Rico did vs Usyk.

The 2nd smallest HW Usyk ever fought would be the 2nd biggest one Ali ever fought and the biggest HW Ali fought was a out of shape 6'3 HW with a shorter reach than Ali. Rico is a ripped 6'5'' very athletic 258lb giant who is in superb shape

But you, like most people, are vastly overestimating the difference in kickboxing and boxing, as if Troy Dorsey and James Warring didn't exist.

I am speaking as the guy who told all of you exactly what would happen in this fight. Almost the only one.

When was Ricos last pro boxing match ? Give me the date, tell me how experienced he was at the pro prior to the Usyk fight and tell me what Ricos Olympic achievements are. I want statistics and facts on Verhoeven, not opinions. McGregor got carried by Mayweather too and looked competative, doesn't mean McGregor was any good at world level boxing, because Mayweather didn't take McGregor seriously. Usyk avoided his mandatory to put on a pitiful performance against an unranked kickboxer who had 0 boxing accolades.
LOL. Keep telling yourself that. Even tiny Quarry would beat the crap out of 1 pro fight hunchback Verhoeven

Lol, you are making up things I didn't say or comment about. I only commented on the Spinks fight being a gimmick. I saw your post about gimmicks and felt like butting in.
You then immediately started defending Spinks as some legitimate title challenger, which he was not, and I dont even care to argue over it. Because I dont care, I thought the Rico fight was an absolute joke too, even if Rico was one of the best kick-boxers in the world.

Spinks was an unranked prospect and an Olympic gold medalist who had 7 fights in 1977 he was extremely active and Ali didn't avoid any mandatories to take the fight. Calling it a gimmick fight is true but it doesn't make it a reasonable comparison unless you are just trying to point out the fact that they were ALL criticized for their actions just like Usyk should be criticized for this BS stunt.

Thats the entire point. Usyk should not get a pass for looking like crap against a textbook example of a cherrypick after not giving his mandatories a chance at the unified titles

In a gap of 3 weeks, Floyd Patterson had stopped his official contender, Tommy Jackson at the Polo Grounds, before stopping Olympic Pete in Seattle. Floyd took the second fight, when a wealthy group of businessmen offered him a quarter of a million dollars to face Rademacher, 21 days later.
Nobody would turn an offer like that down. $250, 000, was a fortune in 1957!

As I said, it doesn't matter. You don't understand what you see, which is why you can't predict the future like I did.

    POST SCRIPT:
Still waiting for the acknowledgment that I gave you two top-ten Ring magazine guys that Sanchez has now beaten.

Yes because you haven't had trash predictions before ? You haven't predicted wrong results right ? Either you can see the future and get every prediction right, or it's just hubris. You can't see the future, and if you could, you'll know that Verhoeven will get smoked by any other top heavyweight with 0 difficulty

I'm bumping this thread when it happens. Usyk dodged his mandatories to cherrypick and emberrass the sport of boxing against a kickboxer with 1 pro boxing fight back in 2014

I didn't make the comparison, you did. I merely pointed out that Spinks was a gimmick fight too.

And since you keep repeating the mandatory thing, let me remind you that Ken Norton was Ali´s mandatory at the time. So, just like Usyk, Ali chose a gimmick fight over his mandatory obligation.

Norton was not an immediate mandatory for Ali beforehand thats why the sanctioning bodies allowed the fight to happen instead of stripping Ali, he was mandatory for the winner and Spinks was the one who ducked the Norton fight. Ali fought Norton 3 times. What utter nonesense. Has Usyk even had a trilogy before ? Spinks was the one that got stripped of the WBC title LOL

Furthermore I didn't deny it being a gimmick fight. I said equating it to Usyks situation is a false equivalence. So why are you still responding if that's all you brought to the table ?
    As you can see above

You've already proven Usyks situation is more shameful to the sport by considering the Leon Spinks fight a gimmick fight and criticizing Ali for not taking more deserving challengers. He deserves it, and so does Usyk

It would be history repeating itself except that Usyk didn't lose!

Uysk won by TKO, and, after the 11th, would have been ahead on two cards has they gone into the 12th.
