He hit him right in the part of the jaw where you’re gonna be knocked out regardless of punch resistance. My anatomy teacher in college talked about the sweet spot. It’s right where the jaw bone connects to the skull.

thank you Anatomy teacher UNLV 1996

Interesting I always thought the sweet spot was hooking the tip of the chin which would cause more violent neck and head rotation due to principles of leverage because the chin is farthest from the pivot point.

Obviously, Torrez is packing glass. Worst chin in HW I've seen among the rising generation

Absolutely, the 2 greatest sins for a boxer to have is a fragile chin and quitting, according to many, who have never boxed.

Amateurs coming through need time to develop.

Torrez pace is not very professional. he was missing the finer skills of a seasoned pro. He needs to work on his resilience. Wouldn't put him on a glass jaw yet

Yeah, Torrez has a big time glass jaw. That punch Sanchez laid him out with didn't even look that hard.

If he continues his career, he's gonna go to sleep many more times before all is said and done.

That's not a glass chin. That is not following the basics of footwork and positioning, lining yourself up to get sparked out. As a southpaw myself, it's shocking he hung out right in the alley of Frank's right hand.

This. It was way too soon to put him in with someone like Sanchez. I also agree that it’s too soon to say he has a glass jaw. Many of these managers seem to have no patience in properly developing their fighters.

If you look earlier in this thread you will see he got laid out cold in a very similar manner in the amateurs. Check it out:

Torrez clearly can't take a good punch!! This guy doesn't just pack china in his chin, it's very fine, fragile china at that.

Footwork and positioning has nothing to do with the Chin
Do you think Tex Cobb had great footwork and positioning? Hell no he didn’t he had a great Chin.

Getting sparked by Jalolo is looking worse as he's looked bad in the pros.

Jabbing with the head offline is a risky tech in southpaw vs orthodox. Its surprising he does this as often as he does being a southpaw.

What I saw in that 1st round was the most tensed up fighter I may have ever seen. Torrez was the opposite of relaxed and when you're that tense the punches are more effective. That aside I always thought he was too hittable to go far ,but still, I didn't see Sanchez waxy his mustache in one round

Firstly, he's such a nice chap I feel sorry for him going out like that and it's really cruel and unfortunate he's been cursed by the boxing gods with a glass jaw because I literally can't think of anything worse to be afflicted with

But there's simply no denying this one as he's been one punch flatlined laid out cold x 2 now in his prime and even more disturbingly ala Roy vs Grandpa Glenn he was rendered unconscious immediately upon impact both times long before his head hit the canvas

It's not quite Lennox Lewis level bad because he was a giant of a man who was one punch iced x 2 by smaller men and to the best of my knowledge neither Frank Sanchez or Jalolov are crack addicts or have been KO'd x 2 by a glass jaw like Maskaev but it's really bad and I have a terrible feeling it's going to happen again
