Yeah he's supposed to destroy Verhoeven and dominate an undeserving kickboxer whos last pro boxing match was in 2014 the suprising part is the fact that he couldn't. The W result is irrelevant to contentions surrounding the entire fight.

We should settle the argument with a rematch, but this time in Rico's court. I cannot wait for Usyk's kickboxing debut. I hope he gets another $100 million so he can finally afford to relocate his daughter from the bomb shelter. I mean, training in Budapest and hanging out with Turki while your daughter is supposedly in a war-torn country being bombed is quite the "Father of the Year" move, if that story is actually true

 

He may not have looked like vintage Usyk in the ring but mentioning the war is hardly clownlike, which would be more akin to a Floyd powder puff performance after which he talks himself up as the greatest ever.

Yes, read my post above. He uses his country's brutal war to gain sympathy for a garbage performance.

 

He's either a liar or a bad father, simply put. Also, my U.S. tax dollars go toward funding his country's defense efforts, so I can make fun of him if I want.

 

But usyk doesn't fight very often. So even ignoring the fact that rico didn't deserve to try for a world title at all, it is ridiculous to speak of a direct (!) rematch when that probably means at least another year of waiting for someone who should have been in the ring this weekend. (Or even as early as usyk chose to fight dubois which is half an eternity ago)

Rico can fight another boxer. After this fight and his performance against usyk he won't have trouble finding high ranking opponents.

Also what do people expect from a rematch? He was a surprise for usyk, because he was so unconventional. Now usyk saw that style, he can think about it for half a year before trying again...

 

Jake paul vs joshua did big money, too. Since when do we as fans appreciate how much money anyone is making? That's not the metric we should be trying to optimize.

Otherwise i should start watching soccer again...
