Lucas Big Fatty Browne had a win for the ages. Lennox Lewis was the best of that list.

The fact Joshua is #4 on my list shows its been a relatively poor era. Lewis and Usyk are stand outs. Wlad accomplished a lot but damaged the sport for years with his negative style and borderline illegal tactics.

Joshua had the guts to take on challenges, something a lot of fighters didn't have the guts to but he was limited due to his durability.

Vitali mostly fought no hopers.

 

Lewis Vs.Vitali would single out Vitali as the best win. No other ATG champion has such a win in a farewell fight.
Wlad Vs. Chagaev is the win that the public values the most, because with that win a new line began, after the retirement of lineal champion Lewis.

Interesting. Is that because of its historical significance for you in being #1 v #3 to award Wlad the Ring belt?

 

It's strange that someone who didn't even put the same fight in the top 5 is commenting on it. Maybe I should have replaced No.3 and No.4, but certainly the fight in which Chagaev participated is not more valuable to me than Lewis's win over Vitali, and Fury's interruption of Wlad's decade-long dominance.

 

Very fair. Don't get me wrong I like your lists. Just that one entry surprised me. As it isn't where my mind goes as Wlad's premier win.

I always thought the Chagaev fight was over shadowed a little due to what went on with Valuev. Though I recognize it has historical significance in that it was seen as the start of Wlad's lineage. But maybe not the top opponent Wlad faced - because of the sickness of Chagaev and the fights falling through with Valuev. The way Povetkin, Pulev, and Haye were completely out matched against Wlad at their peaks, for example, and Byrd

In terms of establishing a new lineage though, I can see why it would be ranked top 5
