Fury won a poll here 65 to 3 when the question was asked who won the fight.

Pretty much everyone who's seen the fight thinks it was a major gift for Wilder. And the one sided poll illustrates how controversial and bad fans think the decision was.

You've entered this conversation saying you agree with Dubbelchin and there's a few things wrong with this.

1. Dubbelchin is a knowledgeable boxing fan but when it comes to Wilder his opinion can not be taken seriously as everyone on this forum knows.

2. You've stated you agree with Dubbelchin yet you said you've not even scored the fight ? And think the draw is legit anyway ? just because Wilder scored 2 knockdowns ? Which is pretty silly TBH.

For reference here's my scorecard below I think most people had Fury winning 8 or 9 out of the 12 rounds.

Bad decisions are bad decisions. They are of the same genus.

In the case of Fury/Wilder (I) and Lewis/Holyfield (I), they are the same species; exactly alike in terms of their raw anatomy.

Justifications for Fury/Wilder (I) are made on the basis of two KDs, but still only agree with one of the three cards. The Rochin card of 115-111 [much like the Eugenia Williams 115-113 card in Lewis/Holyfield (I)] is an absurd anomaly.

The decisions are even alike when it comes to the more sensible cards of Stan Christodoulou (for Lewis) and Robert Tapper (for Fury), being closer to the mark but still a little generous to Holyfield and Wilder, respectively.


But more important is that I rarely, if ever, hear anyone justifying Lewis/Holyfield I - Even the two judges who messed up admit their mistake.

 

It's also worth pointing out at a stretch and I mean a major stretch the best possible scorecard you give Wilder is 113-113.

And that would have to be seriously giving Wilder the benefit of the doubt in any somewhat debatable round.

The fact is 1 judge made sure Fury didn't even have a chance of winning a decision because he scored it 115-111 for Wilder. Which means he had Wilder winning anyway without needing 2 knockdown which is totally bogus.

I don't even like Fury but he got shafted against Wilder and I think the vast majority agree.

You said you agreed with Dubbelchin that Wilder deserved the draw vs Fury because he scored 2 knockdowns.

1. You admitted you've never scored the fight so how can you agree the draw is legit ?

2. Scoring 2 knockdown doesn't mean you deserve anything in terms of a decision. There's 10 other rounds and most felt Fury won 8 or 9 rounds quite clearly.

You are right and you are a better connoisseur of boxing than I am, but I like the decision better - draw.

 

We do the same thing now but with a dozen drones attacking incessantly from all angles during sparring.

And we blindfold the boxers to make sure they can see what they don’t see coming.

Until seeing this very comment...I did not feel certain that there was even but an ounce of common sense left in this world. But this is at least a tumbler full.
