    Thanks for sharing the video.

But one thing I noted was Peter suggested others in his team did hear the bell. Peter thought it came two seconds earlier which kind of makes sense that he might hear a phantom bell ring because he will have been wanting for the round to end. But he isn't the referee.

Once the ten second warning goes, the referee should be well aware the bell is coming while also focussing on the action. That is literally his job in the final 10 seconds. He should be getting ready for that bell to ring.

Peter said that was all that he said, that Lyson didn't hear the bell, but didn't say anything further.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that the referee will have had his collar pulled by the higher ups straight after the fight, i.e, say "I didn't hear the bell".

Because that was it? That's his answer for Peter?

Edit: And just to add, lets put the above to one side, and let's say that it genuinely was referee error and he didn't actually hear the bell, well that makes his refereeing error understandable, but it doesn't really flip it to being a good stoppage. It was still a bad stoppage coming after the bell.

You're tired of what exactly? Tired of misinterpreting or misrepresenting what I'm saying?

I'm pretty sure Usyk doesn't punch as hard as man mountain Jamal Ben-Saddik but he's a damn sight better boxer, even that 39 y/o past prime soft career highest weight version of Usyk, and Rico as great as he is, as tough as he is, and as a big a heart as he has, was getting knocked out had the ref not given him 29-30 seconds to recover. He still hadn't come close to recovering even after that 30 second break and he was completely defenceless and on the verge of being knocked out or completely senseless within a second of Usyk pouncing on him when the ref waved the action back on and his powers of recovery weren't going to save him. He was also gassed after having been up on his toes for 11 rounds

And I'm well aware of how boxers fare vs kickboxers and MMA fighters under kickboxing or MMA rules when they venture over to their domains. I'm the biggest boxing fan in the world but I've been telling people on here for years that boxing isn't the king of combat sports and that these kickboxers and MMA fighters ain't no joke

For what it's worth, multiple people posted on Reddit that they were at the fight and couldn't hear the bell whatsoever. I think with the fight being outside, it being extremely windy, and the crowd going ape that it just wasn't that noticeable for folks.

Plus, with as much of a shambles as the production was with the interminable wait times, the failed screens which caused the long wait before the main event, the terrible AI nonsense, and all the rest, it wouldn't surprise me if the ring bell or the person working it were just garbage.

This is a good video summing up the time of the stoppage and if the bell wasn't heard it makes even more sense.

I don't know how well Rico would or would not have recovered. It really doesn't matter since the ref shouldn't care about that stuff anyway. He should just be concerned with the fighter's health and safety in the moment. Do guys like Fury get extra rope? They sure do. Does that make it right? Absolutely not.

At any rate, I think the takeaway with Rico coming out for the 12th should be that boxing ain't kickboxing. When Rico got his senses scrambled in kickboxing, he's only ever been in at most Round 5. He's not 11 rounds deep into a boxing match where he's been constantly moving the entire time. In kickboxing you might take bigger shots, I'll concede that point immediately. However, you don't take near as many shots total. As we saw with Fury sailing around the ring after Usyk put him on ***** street, taking a lot of blows to the head can be much worse for you and harder to recover from than one big shot.

Finally, the rules and nature of boxing would suggest Rico was never surviving the 12th round. This ain't kickboxing where maybe you could run around and then throw kicks at your opponent to encourage them to stay away from you. This is boxing. You can run, but you'll be caught. Then what are you going to do? The P4P #1/#2 in the world is going to be dead set on ending you because he knows he needs this knockout. Or at least to put you down again. He's not going to play around. Ok, so you hold him, right? Usyk isn't going to allow that at this point like he was earlier in the contest. Plus, if you hold too much that's point deductions or possibly a DQ. You absolutely will have to fight and defend yourself for close to 3 minutes. Against a pissed off Oleksandr Usyk who had just had you face down ass up through the ropes in the previous round.

The fight was only going one way from the 10th round onwards. Usyk does what he always does and turns up the heat. He stopped taking it easy and piddling around and he was looking for the finish. He had Rico wobbling at the end of the 10th, drops him and if not for ref shenanigans would have had him done in the 11th, and if there had been a 12th Rico was getting slept and sent to the hospital. Even Peter Fury straight up admitted Rico wasn't going to survive the 12th.

Peter Fury is such an intelligent, level-headed, top bloke. Amazing how him and his clown of a brother can be so different.

Not surprising really. There have been multiple examples of refs not hearing the bell when the action hots up towards the end of the round and the crowd are going crazy.

Yet they conveniently heard it for the previous 10 rounds, they’ve paid Peter off. He was all in on appealing before. The referees job is to make sure you listen for the bell ffs

Did we not land on the Moon, either? I suppose 9/11 was an inside job, too, huh?

Not everything is a grand conspiracy, my guy. Look at the posts above in this thread. The timekeeper screwed up. There was time left in the round and they rang the bell early. And a gang of people have said they didn't hear the bell from Rico, to Peter, to the ref, to fans who were there at the fight. It's outside, wind gusts up over 20 MPH, and the crowd was going wild. Easy to miss the bell.

The other week the Ref thought he heard the bell and stopped the round early, then this week the ref didn’t hear the bell and we had the controversial stoppage . What’s the link, both British Refs, use American Refs until us over here get our Refs sorted out !

Yeah, our refs are ****. They seem too hyped up and tense all the time. Like they're so terrified to make the wrong decision that they make it anyway. American referees seem a lot calmer. Authoritative, but calm. And you won't find me often rating anything American over British.

From this angle the stoppage looks even more weird.

If the reverse had happened and it was Rico teeing off on Usyk and the bell rings too early Rico fans would be calling it a conspiracy to save Usyk, but if their man gets saved by an early bell I guess it's fine lol

Only with your statement Usyk would have KOed him not 99 but 100% for sure, like its set in stone. Rico is famous for his recover abilities, so it isnt 100% certain. Maybe yes, maybe no.

With the other things you wrote I agree mostly. And for sure this was the worsest version of Usyk we ever saw, thats undeniable.

I cant find the full fight, but here Rico was KOed by Jamal "The Goliath" Ben-Saddik (same height and similar weight as Tyson Fury):

And here 10 yrs later their 3rd fight:

Thats what I ment with the punching power (using Mighty Mo as example). Usyk punches more precise, but I doubt he punches as hard or harder as Ben Saddik, who his physically much stronger. Almost every single punch of Ben Saddik hurt Rico and he either went down or moved away. Usyk s punches didnt have the same effect on him, only after Rico walked fowards in an uppercut.

Peter is an ex-convict who was not allowed to enter the USA for Tyson Fury's Cunningham fight. He teaches boxers (including Rico I noticed) to use and get away with illegal tactics.
