    1. I alluded to boxers cutting weight during same day weigh ins, leading to the rule change.
    2. You presented a single instance of a guy losing a fight by knockout and claimed he didn’t cut much to disprove the above. Your source: some guy.

That isn’t how you disprove an argument, my friend.

I actually trained at Leonards gym for a bit and actually got to work with a couple of his trainers for a little bit but hey they don't know anything right?
And your "source" which has no name cites the estimate from 150- 160lbs and of course somehow you fell on 160lbs which was no surprise.

And I know where Leonard used to buy cocaine and went to school with one of the guys from that crew.

It wouldn't be the first time it's happened. People move up and down rankings due to theirs and their competitors most recent performances.

Inoue beat a very good opponent in Nakatani, Usyk struggled with a kickboxer, and Crawford retired.

No one else has done enough to take the top spot, so, rightfully, it's Inoues.

I'm not sure I agree with some of the arguments by the OP. It's true that some of Inoue's opposition haven't been top notch, but then neither has Crawfords, who the OP seems to really respect. Crawford is a great fighter on the eye test. Unfortunately, his resume is severely lacking for someone with his achievements. It's not Crawford's fault. He fought everyone he could. He just fought in weight divisions that were weak at the time he fought in them.

That fact that I opened up the list by mocking Lomachenko and nobody cares just shows how much of a bunch of bandwagon jumpers General Forum fans are. They jumped from that bandwagon straight onto the Inoue one.

I fought two of his fighters and was invited to train at his gym by one of the trainers after one of the fights.
So I took him up on the offer thinking it would be a benefit to me and in some ways it was.
Pepe, Morton and about 2 others would work with boxers. One of them had been on the Olympic team with Leonard if I remember correctly but never turned pro.
And when training would be winding down they would sit and tell stories and argue with each other about certain fighters or fights. And it was Hearns and Pryor that was talked about the most followed by what boxer they thought had the best or least potential.
So of course being young I would ask questions and to their credit they would answer my questions.
Now if you believe them or not that's another matter.
And no you don't know any of that so just stop with the BS.

    1. Losing 4 rounds tops is now considered "struggling"? It was against a quality undefeated fighter who made some adjustments in the second half to finally win rounds only for Inoue to make his own adjustments in the last rounds of the fight like the champion that he is. Oh and he ended up breaking Nakatani's orbital as well. Yeah I'm sure Inoue was thankful that it wasn't 15, he would have further damaged Nakatani in the process.

According to your logic no top fighter should be allowed to lose one single round against another top fighter even if they still won convincingly.

    2. Gotcha. So Inoue was sitting on his ass in the last week while he was already P4P #1.

You deliberately misinterpreted my quote because it hurts your pride. Losing four out the last six rounds is, in fact, a struggle in the second half of the fight.

I misinterpreted nothing. You're just trying to twist the definition of "struggle" by making it seem like as if Inoue barely edged out Nakatani when he literally won 8 rounds out of 4. If he actually struggled he would have been beaten to a bloody pulp, rag dolled around, lost the majority of the rounds, and given a gift decision. But none of that happened.

This entire thread was deliberately made for the sole purpose of venting out your anger of Inoue being called #1 P4P by trying to downplay Inoue's P4P status. Inoue does what a top fighter should be doing, keeps proving his doubters wrong, and repeatedly shows why people consider him as the best. But because he's been continuously taking a massive dump on Tank's legacy that's been hurting your feelings.

The issue isn’t that you hung out with some guys. The issue is that you took their word as gospel and are using it to attempt to disprove that guys were cutting weight in the first half of the eighties and earlier. You’re failing at doing that.

And Leonard was buying cocaine from Graveyard Crips at Virginia Park on Pico. You can probably find some info on YouTube.

"When is Inoue gonna fight outside Japan?" - Fights outside of Japan 5x

"When is Inoue gonna start moving up?" - Becomes undisputed in 2 weight classes

"When is Inoue gonna fight an unbeaten American boxer?" - Knocks out Stephen Fulton in 8 rounds

"When is Inoue gonna start taking risks by fighting dangerous punchers?" - Beats MJ and Nakatani

Yeah nothing is ever enough to please people. He can retire right now while he's on top and it won't hurt his legacy. Inoue seems to be on his way to fight Bam Rodriguez next and potentially moving up to 126 later on. But I guess he's not "taking enough risks".

Floyd was washing guys on pfp lists.

Inoue did nothing like that with Nakatani, who was fringe like Robert Guererro.

I don't see why inoue would deserve a thread like this. Because he is japanese?

    Great technique.
    Fan friendly offense heavy style.
    Fights often.
    Fights the best opponents.
Not afraid to take risks and a knockdown.

So he is obviously deserving of the top spot. Compare that to some past p4p names like canelo and his antics and a-side advantages and maneuvering to get opponents at the right time and avoid them at the wrong time...

Usyk (before dubois 2) is just a crazy opponent for p4p number one. That is basically impossible to live up to, concerning fan friendly. But so many don't care about what the fighter actually dares and does and rather about the media package and hype surrounding the fighter. It's too much about identification, like they are soccer clubs or something...
