Who would Dubois need to beat to surpass Joshua ALL TIME ?

They're resumes are pretty close imo. Dubois has a title right now. Assuming he goes on a win streak after Wardley who does he need to beat in the current division to leapfrog joshua on the all time lists

 

You're right they are close. I think AJ has the 'highest high' with Klitschko, and his initial title reign was a good one (Whyte and Parker aged really well, Povetkin was a good win at the time). Dubois could maybe do it by just racking up title defenses but he probably needs that one signature win, like Itauma maybe? Or beating the winner of AJ - Fury winner. I know Dubois already beat AJ but I've always felt like AJ could win a rematch so doing that fight again, if AJ is coming off of a win over Fury, would be more meaningful.

Dubois's win over Hrgovic isn't legit at all tho so that doesn't really count towards his legacy.

If Dubois beats Wardley in a rematch, then Kabayel or Itauma, he'd be above AJ. Throw in a Rico match and call it a day.

 

Honestly? Dubois's already there. What AJ did as champion does not elevate him over Dubois.

 

Not fight Usyk lol. I think regain a belt after Usyk is gone and have a decent run of defenses, Joshua did manage to hold onto them for a while and gave Usyk two good tests.

 

He's probably already there, it's just the Olympic gold and AJ's charisma/exciting style, along with Hearn's Matchroom promotion, makes him more of a star.

I'd say one more big name win would make him surpass AJ, in my opinion.

 

It's easier being a challenger than being the guy with the target on his back. Dubois needs to make some title defences before this is really a serious discussion.

Someone mentioned Hrgovic being too controversial. He also has that ridiculously controversial win over Lerena.

Get some title defences under his belt would be a good start. He should definitely be able to do it in this era. First up, Itauma?

We'll have to see how their career pans out, but I do think Dubois has more good wins in him for sure. However, AJ could very much beat Fury which would certainly boost his resume.

He's already there. He's taken insane risk and come through well ahead whereas Joshua has done everything calculated and still been destroyed multiple times.

Dubois lost to Joyce at 22, the same Joyce would go on to stop Takam and Parker in his next few. His eye was probably done for, that one is what it is.

The Lerena fight is an oddity. Certainly not a good look.

Losing to Usyk twice is standard for HW's today. Tough to knock him for that when everyone is doing it. I don't hold the KO's against Dubois lieu of getting decisioned because he's employing a strategy that has winning potential.

Stopping Miller, Hrgo, Wardley and Joshua in 5 fights eclipses what Joshua has done. These guys are ALL in or close to their prime, three of them undefeated. Joshua never did anything remotely similar. The best he could put in a similar lineup is Parker. Old Povetkin and shot 41 year old Vlad were, well, old and shot. The people making a fuss about a lack of title defenses for Dubois are the same people who talk pages of **** for Wilder's defenses (Molina and Breazeale ring a bell as Joshua's defenses?).

To go 4-2 with 4 KO's against Usyk, Miller, Hrgo, Joshua, Usyk, Wardley is very, very good.

They are both really close resume wise. Anthony's biggest win is a completely washed up Klitschko, while Dubois best win is AJ.

Dubois still has some upside, if he can beat Kabayal and Itauma he will be held in far higher esteem than AJ.

 

Being the legitimate champion would be good for starters

AJ might also be able to beat Rico.
