The Grim Sleeper!  Love it, I'm gonna use that one!
Good comparison. I expect the Grim Sleeper, like Price, will be taking MANY more canvas naps before all is said and done!!

People make too much of a KO loss.

Dubois was stopped 3 times, counted out the last time, now he's WBO titleholder.

Joe Louis, W Klitschko, Lennox Lewis were all KOed but came back.

There are always exceptions, and while some fighters are able to develop compensatory skills to overcome their shaky chins, most are not.

Punch resistance matters, and if you're getting laid out the way Torrez did at this level, against a guy not known as a huge puncher, it doesn't bode well..

We'll have to see how he bounces back from his first pro defeat. He was KO'd similarly in the amateurs by Jalolov but managed to bounce back. I have a feeling he's closer to Tommy Morrison than Price in that despite the weak chin he has heart, and will continue to fight for as long as he's remaining vertical. He can be in some exciting fights, but will never be the top dog. There's also still a chance for him to pick a belt up briefly like Morrison did when they splinter off again. His management will have to be careful how they match him from here on out though. I'd like to see him fight someone like Yoka after maybe a tuneup or two.

That's true. It is possible that like Wlad and Lewis, he finds away to overcome his suspect chin and excel. It's also possible he gets slept repeatedly if he continues his career.

And agree Joka would be a very winnable fight, particularly given his own highly suspect mandible:

Dubois holding a belt doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a Glass Jaw. There are plenty of Glass Jawed belt holders.

Surviving Wardley doesn't show to me he has a glass jaw imo, lack of heart sometimes, but not chin

Glass-jawed freaks who also happen to be really nice people causes me the most acute cognitive dissonance
