I felt old when Mayweather and Pac retired but goddamn seeing Usyk and Inoue age makes me feel ancient. Before we know it Shakur and co. Will be the old guys.

Dubios is only dangerous if you're dumb enough to stand and trade with him, and fighters you've already beaten are less dangerous by default because it usually boils down to styles, especially if you're as skilled as Usyk is. The fact Usyk blasted out Dubios in 5 last time out despite being slower and older proves it.

Parker would have lost to a decision against Usyk, not disputing that for a second, but he wouldn't have taken the cowards way out like Dubios did. There's a reason Dubios ducked Parker as well.

Safety first in fights in which he was clearly outpointing the other guy. He did not have such certainty here, but I can understand dismissing my opinion here as if my aunt had balls.

Ali gets massive amount of criticism. Period. If you feel like Ali is glorified, read the threads again—his career is consistently taken apart just as much as it is glorified and appreciated.

When was he not clearly outpointing the other guy? The only fights that apply here are Fury and Joshua, as Sanders was virtually over in a round.

Wlad wasnt clearly outpointing Joshua but had dropped him heavily, had him there for the taking. But he didnt want to risk gassing or getting countered, so he went back to trying to outbox. Despite being much older and more likely to fade down the stretch. Despite Joshua having the power to turn the fight at any time if he landed. Despite the British officials giving Joshua rounds and treatment Wlad would not get.

This points to Wlad being excessively cautious generally. There are no fights in his career when he is behind and really goes for it. When Wlad opened up it was when the other guy had absolutely nothing for him.

Fury has generally been one of the most disliked fighters on the forum for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with his ability. We cannot pretend that all are judged by the same standards. There are "heroes" and "villains" in boxing.

I get why people don't want him to keep fighting and go out on a bad note, and neither do I, I love the guy... but does it really harm his legacy?

Roy Jones Jr. is still talked about as one of the ATGs and he fought way past his sell-by date and picked up a ton of KO losses.

That was so embarrassing and awkward. Can't help but feel that everything Dubois does is because he's seen other people do it. You could probably convince this guy to try and break into Area 51.

I feel that way about Joshua. Joshua vs Whyte still seems like yesterday. How is it over 10 years ago?? Everyone needs to go look at how stacked that fight card was by the way, it was ridiculous.

Dubois is dangerous, period. It only takes a momentarily lapse of concentration and one punch vs a savage puncher, especially when they're that much bigger than you and you're at an age where Father Time is the tag-team partner of said much bigger and younger savage puncher and you're facing that savage puncher in their backyard. Not to mention that Dubois is entering the ring with 3 weapons not the legal 2 and using his 2 legal ones illegally with all those low blows

I understand the logic behind some feeling that J-Park would've posed a greater stylistic threat to Usyk than Dubois did who Usyk had already handily beaten but I don't believe that he did really pose a stylistic threat and whatever threat he did pose >> the threat and danger Dubois' savage power posed especially with everything else I mentioned that accompanied that and at best J-Park would've won a few rounds

I agree that J-Park would've fought until he could no longer stand though

Projection, victimhood, and big bad forum being biased aside --- there is a reasonable chance Manny wouldn't let Wladimir stay this cautious given the dynamics of the bout, nor that he would be the same in the rematch he chased, but was denied despite being reigning champion for so many years.

You also have to take into account that there was WAY more spite between team Usyk and team Dubois too. There's a level of mutual respect between team Parker and team Usyk, which neither sells a fight or ignites that spark of rivalry between them.

I don't buy it, everything speaks for Usyk having a rational and dedicated approach.

He's out to cash out and squeeze out max millions in his last fights. Probably with new people in his team who don't demand as much of a cut of the money as his former manager & promoter.

Like I said before, I would do the same if I conquered and beat everyone put in front of you, winning every possible accolade there is, you probably too.

Sure, but Usyk already made him quit. We didn't really need to see a repeat of it.

Yeah, but if Roy had retired after Ruiz, he'd be in the discussion for Top 5 P4P all time I reckon, and his air of 'superman' invunerability he had that Tarver and The Road Warrior shattered would still be intact.
