This is a close fight. All I know is that they both KO a 39 years AJ That's like a KO 5 event for Usyk and a KO 1 event for Wlad. All this talk about Usyk's age really puts into perspective how poor AJ's near-KO-loss 11th round win to 41 Wlad was.
Depends as always on if the ref lets Wlad lay across Usyk's back for extended periods. I think either way Usyk wins, but Wlad has a much better chance with a favorable ref
The Wlad we saw against Jennings and Fury was better than the Usyk we saw against Rico. Wlad's style, based on strength and power more than speed and stamina, should age better. However, if 39 year old Usyk had been fighting Wlad rather than Rico he would have been in better mental and physical condition, had direct experience of Wlad's style and vast footage to study. So it is not straightforward.
Depends on who shows up on the night Wlad got neutralised by Tyson Fury all night The same Fury got clowned and reset by Usyk TWICE Styles make fight but it depends on which version of a fighter shows up too.
Usyk. I know he looked bad last week, but Wlad would be easy for him to figure out. Wlad is poor at making mid fight adjustments, Usyk is great at that.
Have to go with Usyk,as bad as he was against Rico he still found the punch to end the fight, controversial or not. That knockdown for me would have had it level going into the last round, could Usyk hand stopped him ? I’m not 100% on that but I could see him winning the last round. Wlad had plenty opportunities to stop Joshua, but held back and didn’t throw,Joshua to his credit came back and stopped him . Usyk knew what he had to do and he did it !
Rico was totally exhausted.. boxing is a different animal.. gotta keep moving. He couldn't have even stood up for one more round. But Usyk's lack of power was telling. Chris Byrd reborn.. but bigger.. Usyk is not a small heavyweight.
The same? I’m not saying Fury from Wlad fight would be Usyk, but its a bit disingenuous to call it “the same” even just based on time alone…. Nearly a decade apart.
