As I have said on here many many times before, there NEEDS to be a senior level of boxing created for these guys, with a strict rule of not being able to fight anyone more than 5 years younger than you. NO more Jake Paul-Mike Tyson joke fights. I am surprised it hasn't been thought of to be honest. A Tyson-Holyfield trilogy? A Lewis-Bowe fight? There's surely a lot of money to be made there with the casuals. And the older generation with their nostalgia.
If he’s fighting club fighters, he will probably still smoke them. I’ve noticed he seems to have kept in shape over the years. If he steps up against anyone in the top 50 or higher, I don’t see it ending well.
100 percent agree. As long as there's an audience for this - and like it or not, we can all agree that there is - state boxing commissions should implement the kind of limits you suggest, establishing a seniors division.
It kinda started off that way with Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr., although they were given stupid rules that they couldn't knock each other out, so they spent the whole fight just clinching and targeting each other's bodies, and it was pretty boring. I think Tyson had that same idea in mind though that he wanted to created a seniors version of boxing, but it didn't come to anything. Then came the Holyfield-Belfort farce, which was pretty sad to watch. Belfort being a 42-year-old UFC veteran, showed no mercy. 59-year-old geriatric Holyfield had no business being in there with him, even though a young version would have knocked Belfort out with his little finger. And then things have just gotten even more stupid since then.
Rahman’s‘s jab alone will allow him to beat pretty much anyone on the club fighting scene, but anyone with serious or moderately serious talent will beat him at this point.
His fight is supposed to be in the middle of July, we will be able to tell how serious he is based on what kind of opponent he gets and what kind of fighting weight he is at.

I've been a boxing fan since the early 1970's and if something like this happened, I would watch but with mixed feelings and a heavy heart. A senior tour has a certain logic to it, but if you turn 50+ after a long and hopefully successful career, you don't need any more brain damage. Some guys would be lured back into fighting, but it would be to the detriment of their health and well-being. Retired boxers need to stay retired, and they don't need any more punishment. But would I watch Holyfield-Tyson III? Darn right I would...
I dont think there is; fighting at 55 they'll want big money. Jake Paul money. On an undercard they'll receive pittance unless desperate like Rahman. What did Tyson RJJ bring in?
