Which 80s Heavyweight s Do You Make Wilder Favourite Over?

I would like to see him against Berbick. That would be fun. Battle of the nutters

 

If he can survive the first few rounds, he has a chance versus Drago - if you can cut Ivan and prove that he is human afterall, Drago hasn't shown that he can get up off the floor to win.

I make him even with Thunderlips and Dipper Brown, but don't think that he can do anything with a prime Clubber Lang fresh off seeing if Adrianna wants to see what a real man do.

I make him favourite against Robert Balboa, but I also put a lot of stock in intangiables. Ever since Robert Jnr was born, Robert Snr went undefeated (asterisk against Clubber Lang loss due to Mickey's death - would've been called off if not sanctioned by the Hollyweird Boxing Commission) until he fought Mason Dixon, decades after, losing by split decision - this is one of the all-time feats of an ATG, as Mason is known to have knocked out the ATG who couldn't be touched, who couldn't be moved, y'all must've forgot!

 

Agreed. If a guy like Bonecrusher could have some success, Wilder could too.

They were an unpredictable bunch. He could stop a few on their off nights and get beaten on their good nights. He has a punchers chance against most non greats even with his woefully limited skillset. His right hand carries a big wallop.

 

I can see him taking out the likes of Snipes,Biggs Cooper.
Definitely got a chance against Mike Weaver, Coetzee .

 

Not yet a heavyweight, but I'd favor 190 pound Holyfield over Wilder. Although, 190 Holyfield would have been a heavyweight in the 70s and prior.

Basically this. 80's underachievers were so up and down that I wouldn't be surprised if Wilder beats them all on their off night.
