Schilt's first knockdown (and KO) of Badr Hari in the Grand Prix 2009 final was brutal. Schilt's jab was so powerful Badr's ears flapped about like Dumbo's.

Yes true. I mean such things arent uncomon. I know boxing people think nobody hits harder or as hard as boxers, but Sialia "Mighty Mo" Siligia destroyed Francois Botha, and I make a bet seeing that he punches not weaker as Tyson, Lewis and W. Klitschko:

Botha wasnt a glass chin, but he went down anytime Mo s right hand hit him flush.

About Schilt: I would have liked to see Schilt vs Nicolai Valuev even in a boxing fight. Valuev was the real WBA champ back in 2005-2007 and 2009, sure his overall boxing skills were better, but Schilt was faster, more agile, simply controlled his body much better, and his jab wasnt worser as Valuev s. I could see if Valuev and Schilt had boxed in 2007, Schilt could have surprised the boxing world too. For a guy for his weight and height, Valuev boxed very solid. But when it comes to physical abilities like speed, agility, power, control over his movement etc., only in power I see him above Semmy, all other attributes go to Schilt. The biggest problem I would see is the stamina, I dont know if Schilt could go 36 minutes, that could be a key factor. But if he could, Valuev would have problems to beat him, since he himself wasnt a big KO puncher.

 

Yes Dekkers too he was phenomenal another sad loss.. there's been so many.. Ernesto Hoost , Peter Aerts, Peter Smit, Andy Souwer etc.. I'm glad Rico has brought some more attention to this amazing sport which in turn will shine a light on many of his forebears & fellow countrymen.. The Dutch have a rich history in KB , i have followed the sport right from when K1 was at its peak.. they never got the credit they deserved. My favourite fighter was Alexey Ignashov , he wasn't Dutch but he was brilliant.. wasn't quite disciplined enough (booze etc) but had bags of natural talent:

This was another crossover fight with pretty similar results if you haven't seen it. I won't disparage Vince for it, though. Masato is probably a top five pound-for-pound kickboxer in the history of the sport. Definitely top 10. Not an enviable position to be in.
