We’ve just seen Usyk struggle for a second time against a pressure fighter. Why’s a third go going to be any easier?

I think age and perhaps some complacency has come for Usyk and he isn’t who he was. The Usyk of the AJ fights would box circles around Kabayel. The Usyk we just saw? Kabayel might well win.

it’s the drop off that shocked me. I expected a slow decline, like Larry Holmes. Instead it seemed pretty sharp.

we’ll see. Maybe it was an off night and a wakeup call. But man at 39? Not a good sign.

Usyk could be 40 next time out, to Kabayel's 34. If Usyk won, Kabayel may be the best opponent beaten by a 40+ year old heavyweight in history. I'd rank him above Vitali's Chisora, Povetkin's Whyte and Zhang's Joyce 2 in ability.

Is Kabayel better than the blown up LHW Moorer who got starched by 45 year old Foreman? The hot and cold Mercer who was outboxed clearly by 42 year old Holmes? Also, the younger men likely went in overconfident in those matchups, having seen the old men take bad losses previously, while being undefeated themselves.

Turki wants Usyk to fight Kabayel in Germany, and after that Verhoeven in Holland, in their homelands. Brilliant.

You're talking like Kabayel is the greatest heavyweight in history. 2 years ago Agron Smakici, who is #196 in world heavyweight rankings, knocked down Kabayel in round 2.

If Kabayel doesn't do anything worth mentioning, anything that can hurt Usyk bad in the first 4 rounds Usyk will chip him away landing great counters and jabs and will, in my opinion KO him in the later rounds, and if he doesn't KO him he will easily whoop him on points

I didn't say Kabayel was the GOAT lol, I said he may be the best opponent beaten by a 40+ year old heavyweight, assuming Usyk beats him age 40+.

I think this is easily defensible for the reasons I outlined.

Kabayel got up and stopped Smakici one round later. Agron is a big southpaw and he can punch a bit, while also being considered a journeyman.

It will be a tough fight for both. If Usyk boxes in and out, he’ll make it look easy. If his feet is gone it will be a long hard night

Old news tbh Usyk was ordered by the WBC months ago to fight Kabayel as part of the deal allowing him to fight Rico.Kabayel is the current best of the chasing pack imo and certainly has the style and smarts to possibly beat Usyk, however should the fight actually happen Kabayel is going to be facing a highly motivated Usyk who wants to erase the memories from the Rico fight. I’m picking Kabayel to win but would not be surprised if Usyk comes into this fight like his old self and he wins,or has his age caught up with him ! Win or lose Usyk certainly needs to hang them up after this fight if it happens.

If he does fight Kabayel I hope he makes sure it isn't in Germany. If it is, he's gonna have to knock Kabayel out to get a decision.

Father time appears to be catching up with Usyk a bit... That or he's losing the will to prepare properly.

Regardless, Kabayel isn't beating Usyk - he's solid in his own way, but not without flaws, and even a declined Usyk should box rings around him...

Kabayel's fairly proven against a particular type - Usyk is something very different and much less suited to Kabayel's mix of strengths and weaknesses IMHO.

As said, why should Usyk fight Kabayel in Germany and more to the point why is it just expected of him that he should do so when he's the champ, the King, the A-side, is already giving away so many advantages to Kabayel as it is and is 39 y/o and long past his prime and Kabayel is in his prime, and has already forged a career putting himself at great disadvantages time and time over by being the ultimate road warrior, and Kabayel has not fought anyone in their backyards sans a couple of useless bums early in his career?

And Usyk sold like twice the amount of tickets in neighbouring Poland than Kabayel did vs Pole Knyba in Germany which hasn't even been mentioned as a potential location to stage the fight

No other world champion in the sport is expected to do this in their primes, let alone at 40 y/o or at best a few months away from turning 40 and do so routinely?

    Name one?

    Crawford
    Inoue
    Shakur
Bivol - the closest you'll get but still not near Usyk
    Clenelo
    Bam
    Benavidez
    Haney
    Twink
    Super Boots

    I can keep going

The disrespect is insane and the second he puts a foot wrong after forging a career doing things simultaneously and routinely that no one else is doing and being impeccable he gets crucified on a molten cross and held to a standard no other fighter in history is

Agit beats Usyk and I said it before the Rico fight
