Both of them are old as crap. I think this would be a good fight, Beterbiev can move to heavyweight for a title shot against Usyk Russia vs Ukraine
Beterbiev did beat Usyk once in the amateurs, knocked him down even. So it isn’t as crazy as it sounds.
No, he'd get TKO'd and I base that on the fact he doesn't want the fight with Usyk, saying Usyk is too big or whatever he said. So he himself is worried. I would love to see Usyk KO Beteroids but I don't think we'll see it. If he thought he could win he'd jump on this chance to maybe win a HW title and get incredible glory and money he could use to help his people in war-torn Canada.
Usyk, Joseph Parker and Huni would be very vulnerable against a Beterbiev(from the past) and Benavidez. They are used to fighting larger slower men. Someone smaller who could both win rounds and pack a punch in Beterbiev would be a tough fight. A smaller fighter going 12 against a HW is overrated because no one tries so no one's done it in recent years except RJJ and Toney. Neither was stopped. Moorer got stopped twice once by Foreman and once in his second career by Tua. Spinks was stopped once by Tyson. Qawi was put out twice by Foreman and cruiser Holy. The best smaller fighters don't get knocked out just by anyone. And while Usyk could knock out superheavys he's still a point fighter. Usyk got the power he has by putting on weight, at CW he didn't really have power.
Beterbiev isn’t hurting Usyk nowadays, and he’s not outboxing him. Putting on weight probably wouldn’t do him any favors against someone with Usyks level of activity and volume either.
Lol. Usyk was not a drinking straw at the 2012 Olympics. He was a lot bigger than Beterbiev and barely won that and arguably not even that. If this fight happened in 2018 at cruiser, it would be a toss up. Now? Its clear Usyk would win.
