Did the "fan man" help Holyfield in his rematch with Bowe?

Spider RIco was a tough dude! He was too busy delivering ice to train properly. Never caught a break!

 

Pedro Lovell portrayed Spider Rico in Rocky and later, working at Balboa’s restaurant, in Rocky Baloa.

Lovell went 18-3-2. He lost to Mike Weaver over 10 rounds via decision, drew with Leroy Jones and was stopped in five by Ken Norton in a fight for the NABF title.

Rico/Lovell was 6-foot-3 and from Argentina.

 

Fury won the fight. He had been off inactive before that first fight. That is probably why Wilder caught him. Tyson was still functionally controlling the fight.

 

Uncle Rico could throw a football over those mountains. That's the guy.

 

A few months ago, I went to ‘Napoleon Dynamite Live’ event in my town. They screen the film and then the actors who portrayed Napoleon, Uncle Rico and Pedro came out and did like a one-hour Q&A, very interactive with the audience. It was awesome.

If Uncle Rico had been at the fight, he’d have hurled a football at Fan Man a quarter mile away as he began his descent and taken him out.

 

Uncle Rico was a great all around athlete. 2nd only to Booger from Revenge of The Nerds

 

Really? Spider rico was 6’3? He didn’t look that much bigger than rocky an Stallone is only 5’6

 

Speaking of the infamous "Fan Man" fight against Riddick Bowe, in which a man in a paraglider landed on the ring ropes, sparking wild scenes and leading to the fight being delayed for 20 minutes, Holyfield said he was just as bemused as everyone else.

"It was shocking … I had Riddick Bowe hurt, and Riddick Bowe was bleeding.

"He started breathing real hard, and I was getting ready to can him. And (then) here come the Fan Guy, and it’s 20-something minutes that we had to wait for them to clear the thing up.

"Of course, when the fight started back (up), Riddick Bowe's wounds were healed, he wasn't bleeding, he was fresh again, and they had to start all over again."

 

I thought so

It's been awhile. I watched the fight at a bar and it seemed the interruption helped Holyfield. What a surreal moment that was

 

According to Compubox, Fan Man didn’t land a single punch on Bowe (although he got thoroughly beaten up by the people at ringside who jumped him … and rightfully so).

So no, he did not help Holyfield beat Riddick.

Yeah.. I think Holyfield was going to get a KO win by the 8th/-> 10th round <-. But fan man saved Bowe.
