Finally got round to watching the bout... So what?

What a fighter he is still. Didn't think i'd get to see him have an off night but he did.

He's still a sex symbol only matched by Fury himself.

It's us fickle boxing fans who put fighters on pedestals to make them more than human with unrealistic expectations. A false perception of a fighter beyond the raw cold truth, the truth that everyone is human and If it bleeds we can kill it.

I'm sure Usyk went home that eve and thanked god for humbling him and that's how a man should act.

What happened to his head movement? What happened to him usually winning the lead hand battle? What happened to his ability to avoid and get away from octopi? There was a lot missing. He did seem to be hitting harder than in the past, I’ll give him that.

I think part of it is that he expected Rico to be upright and stiff, and was totally unprepared for what Rico actually boxes like. Part of it is that Rico is an incredible talent and should have gone into boxing a decade ago — I can’t believe the speed and gas tank he had at his size. A lean 260lbs moving like that was nuts.

and part was an off night.

I think he forgot to put in the hard work in his camp for this fight.

He did a Fury and over looked his opponent and didn’t train hard enough, thought all he had to do was turn up,at this point there more like each other than ever. The both of them Black Eyed Boxing with there cross over fights !

You die a hero or live long enough to become a greedy belly.

The ref black eyed boxing. He robbed Usyk of the chance to get a true KO in the next round, robbed Rico of the chance to go the distance and be robbed on the cards, robbed the fans of whatever the real conclusion to the fight would have been.

I don’t think he had an off night. He went into this fight blind with no footage of the other guy to study, he had no idea what to expect. Rico on the other hand knew all about him and prepared well. Usyk brought a knife to a gun fight and still won. That to me shows greatness.

At 39 his age is going to be a factor, but if you choose to continue fighting at an advanced age you need to be Bernard Hopkins like and stay disciplined and be in top shape for every fight. Usyk didn't do this...

His own fault for mucking about with Daniel Lapin and AJ in camp instead of serious training

Well he’s certainly Greedy Rabbit now.Are you just over looking the fact that Usyk took on a cross over fight whilst the mandatory’s to his belts could not get Usyk to commit to fight them, but he could fight a kick boxer with one professional fight, whilst the divison is still held up and still waiting to see what Usyk does next ?
