Mike Tyson (Spinks fight) vs. Lennox Lewis (Golota Fight)

Still Lewis.

 

Banger. I have to go with Mike here although I rate Lewis more highly. Mike's chin is too good and he is not easy to catch clean at this point in his career. His offense is his defence and he takes explosive Lewis, who NEEDS to be defensively prudent against Mike out...quickly.

 

Lewis. Stylistic nightmare for Tyson.

 

It depends on how Lewis defense holds up. Tyson was oodles more durable than Golota

 

Peak Tyson wins--too explosive even for peak Lewis. (I think Mike stops him in roughly 7-8 rounds.)

I'm also betting on Tyson, and that's what almost everyone who shared the ring with them and knew them best said

 

Lewis by KO inside 8.

 

Mike...early and quick.

 

Tyson will do better and get some shots in. It could be very close. This Tyson will fight with more movement and purpose however Lewis still has the tools and Emanuel Stewart’s game plan to beat Tyson.

 

Lennox fairly easily.

Mike generally had trouble with big guys. Lennox was a big guy.

 

The difference between a focused Tyson with Rooney in the corner and that later version is extreme. Tyson's style was designed for taller men and although Lennox is very tall and later in his career got very strong, his chin and his lackadaisical technique would allow Tyson to penetrate.

Tyson would probably stop him before round 8.
